Really good french bakery

The pastries were very good, but they expensive. Over $2.00 for a single macaron. The croissant was buttery and flakey, one of the best I've had outside of actually going to France. The cafe is very small and not very pretty to look at, but the food is definitely worth the trip

Have to say we thought the prices were bit too high. We both ordered the Classic Egg Sandwich w/bacon no tomato that's all you got for $7.00 no fruit no anything. (Sides could be ordered) It was good but we won't be going back to eat breakfast. I'd stop in for a baked good....... sorry can't say it's worth 4... More

I'm in Pastry Heaven. Deserts as good as those I've had in Paris and Europe. Macaroons that fill your mouth full of wonderful flavor. Butter Croissants that will make your heart flutter like it's the first one you had in Paris. A friend wanted to lunch here since it's close to his place. I wish it was close to mine.... More

Food was amazing, service was friendly. My husband and I ordered croissants, macarons, a breakfast sandwich and iced chai lattes. All of it- from the buttery croissant to the melt in your mouth macarons to the refreshing chai was absolutely amazing. Don't miss this place if you are in Arizona. This place is very busy all the time, park a... More

This was quite a find. We had the chicken club sandwiches and ofcourse the macroons to accompony the rich just brewed coffee. Just like so many of the bakeries we enjoyed while in Europe. We enjoyed it mucho.

Huevos Frenchos and coffee... Best breakfast in a long time! Fresh and tasty 👍. It was a little pricy, but I definitely recommend.

Super cute place, great service! I had an americano (outstanding) and egg sandwich with bacon on a croissant (best I've ever had). It's a little pricey but worth it. Yum!

We were making a u-turn after missing our planned turn and we saw this place in an unassuming strip mall in Tempe. We all were feeling like we needed coffee and it wasn't quite lunch, so we stopped-We're so happy we did! I ordered a few separate bakery items including a shortbread cookie and chocolate croissant for my husband. Our... More

Yesterday was the first time I ever went to the Essence Bakery. I ordered the Chicken Club sandwich. It stated that it had grain bread. I'm not a fan of grain bread, but I thought I would bear through it. The bread was VERY fresh, soft, not course and it was a delicious sandwich. The chicken was fresh as well.... More

I stopped in to grab a quick lunch. The menu consists mainly of healthy options, and appears to be geared away from heavy meats. I'm fairly confident that the double chocolate bar croissant is one of the best in town. The outer layer is flaky and easily crumbles, but the soft insides gently envelop the rich chocolate bars and provide... More
