Wonderful

This was a find for us .. right behind our motel, Gateway, and they actually suggested it for us. We bought one of their apple strudels, and it was delicious, beyond words. If we had been around longer, we would have re-visited them again ... a must in the area ...

Stopped in for a late lunch today - this place has the best schnitzel in town. What's more, the owners and workers are friendly and efficient. We'll be back...again and again and again!

I love this little restaurant. Traditional German food and if you can resist the pastries you have a lot of willpower. Small and nothing fancy, but there are a lot of places to sit or you can take out. The owner(?) is super friendly and accommodating even when there are a lot of people in the restaurant. Their prices are... More

Good food can be had at many places. But the Bread Basket is a combination of fantastic food, local ownership that takes pride in their establishment, and ambience where total strangers strike up conversations and leave as friends. Here is our story. We stopped in early, before lunch, but the proprietor, unsolicited, made those great chicken salad sandwiches for us... More

The food in this little German restaurant is so, so GOOD! Authentic, flavorful and delicious. The salads are so fresh, crispy and delicious. I love that they make them to order. Service is efficient and quick, whether you dine in or carry out. Michele and Petr are such characters - I always have a little laugh with them. The desert... More

Grilled chicken salad w/fresh avocado was excellent. Served w/homemade ranch dressing. Ingredients were extremely fresh. Salad served with house-made pretzel roll. Chicken salad sandwich was so tasty - filled with lots of pecans and served on house-made bread. Service friendly & efficient. Pastries were incredible. Everything was reasonably priced. My only suggestion for making it even better would be to... More

I like the choice of lunch entrees, but what I look forward to are the rolls and desserts. Apple strudel, pretzel rolls, and the best coconut macaroons (moist and fluffy) in the USA. They also have homemade bread, on which the sandwiches are made. Good soups, too. I will try the schnitzel next time.

Had lunch there. Schnitzel was delicious as was the mango salad. Wonderful food and the pastries are worth every calorie.

The pastries are awesome and the Breadbasket serves the BEST schnitzel in town - and the rest of the lunch menu is wonderful as well!
