Stopped in for supper during our stop there in Feb.'09. Service was OK. Food was non-descript. Our favorite mexican restaurant back in WI has far better food at much better prices. I can see paying a little more because Sedona is a tourist area, but we could have had a great steak back in Tucson for less $. more

On a recent day trip to Sedona we did the Pink Jeep tour and asked our guide to recommend a place for lunch. She recommended El Rincon at the Tlaquepaque shopping center. We were excited about having a good Mexican/Tex-mex meal for lunch with the kids. We were utterly disappointed. Not only was it BAD, it was overpriced. I got... more

We stopped into El Rincon for lunch, while visiting Tlaquepaque. Since the nice little patio area was already full, we had to sit inside. Service was very fast. Within seconds we had chips and salsa at our table, and the waiter was there to get our drinks. I had the soft shredded beef taco while my friend had the hard... more

A reliable indication of bad food: NO ONE, not server or hostess ever asks how your meal is! They already know how bad it is! Stale chips, bland salsa, unable to pick up my fajita to eat it because the tortillas kept breaking apart because they were so dry! No amount of hotsauce could improve the flavors. Overall opinion: Just... more

We are pretty picky about our Mexican food, and we had just come from Santa Fe, so we weren't really expecting too much. We really enjoyed the margaritas, and the food was pretty good. We had the chimichangas. They had a lot of breading, but were overall good. Not very spicy though. Our service was also very good. more

We recently ate at El Rincon during our recent trip to Sedona. I had Chicken Tacos and my wife had Corn Tamales; neither one of us enjoyed the food. My tacos were generally dry and tasteless. My wife didn't enjoy her food either. The atmosphere was very nice and the service was just fine but overall i would definitely not... more

The service at El Rincon was absolutely terrible. My wife and I made a 7:30 reservation (which is like midnight in Sedona), not realizing they would want to close at 8. The service was very rushed - we could have easily paid within 20 minutes of arrival. Plus, the staff was very unfriendly - I have never left such a... more

The fantastic setting lured us into giving El Rincon a try. It's the quintessential tourist trap. Great looks - horrible food! I have to admit that living close to the border makes me a bit of a snob when it comes to Mexican food. However, what El Rincon dishes up is a disgrace for Mexican cuisine. On my quest for... more

I wanted to dine at Rene's, but they stopped serving lunch at 2:15 (why????) I spotted the outdoor patio at El Rincon and decided to give it a try. The patio was the nicest element. The food was indifferent (the tamale wasn't bad) and the service was barely there. I overheard the waitstaff bickering with the hostess over what tables... more

This was the one regular Mexican spot we tried in our week-long visit, and it was nothing special. Usual cheap-tasting mexican food that is a step above Taco Bell. It was fine, but not exceptional in any way. Small bowl of Guac was 7 bucks! Tiny Margarita was 10! Food platters were average. Location is good, right at the market.... more
