Joined by a friend, we decided to try the NEW Avano Bistro. Located in the space that used to be occupied by Apizza Heaven. Upon entering, the place has a clean contemporary vibe. Muted colors and tasteful artwork on the walls. Soft modern and contemporary jazz and soft rock played through the sound system. We were promptly greeted and seated... More

avano's bistro took over from apizza heaven, which was a good restaurant, and has painted, lightening the interior. in addition, the owners feature large, framed photos of the area from the gallery next door. all in all, it is a most pleasant change. as to the food, what we had was excellent. my wife had pasta bolognese the sauce of... I just went to the former Apizza Heaven that is now renamed and restyled as Avano Bistro. I went for happy hour and had the rustic hummus and falafel appetizer. It was awesome, but you have to like garlic. The rough ground chick peas were great rather than the usual, run of the mill pureed style of hummus. Great salt... More

We were there with some friends tonight, a party of 5, 2 separate checks! We waited for 15 minutes for Nicole to come to our table. She had absolutely no personality! We ordered drinks, when our drinks came we got an old flat sparkling water, stale bread, when Nicole was told she could have cared less! After our meal, which... More

The waitress with the red pony tail..Nicole was horrible. We sat down for 15 minutes before she even came to our table to take our order or even bring us watèr. Her additude was the worst. And when it was time for our check it took her another 15 minutes just to bring it to us. I had to get... More

Wonderful unique choices for pizza! Beautiful day and sat outside. Will come back. Service a little slow, but we were not in a hurry. Definitely brings the atmosphere of Sedona to you.

This was close to my hotel so I went twice. I really liked the outdoor patio. It has a great view and comfortable in the heat. A little windy though so be prepared. I had subs both time and I think the quality is good. A little more expensive than I would expect. The staff's approach to service is odd... More

My family went here for a quick bite after a day of hiking. Must have been an off hour or something. We were there at 11:40. Figured it a good time to hit a place early for lunch. We were the only people in the place and it took forever to get waited on. First off, the only waitstaff was... More

The food was good but not great. Had great service though. Would give it another try. Portions are large.

Went back to Apizza Heaven this past week. It's under new a new owner. It is much cleaner and friendlier. We sat outside and it was warm and plesant. Soft rock playing, light breeze. Two of us had salads, and shared the deep fried spinach. The other had a pizza. Still a terrible location, but if you have a good... More
