Went here for drinks and appetizers, but the rest of the menu look as good as what we had...jalapeno poppers. I realize that doesn't sound like much, but they were great. We'll be back for dinner one day. Very nice.

In the Hillsides shops area on SR 179, Javelina Cantina is one of Mark Shugrue’s successful Arizona restaurants. The Cantina has been serving house-made traditional Mexican food in Sedona for many years. The food’s consistent quality keeps locals, part-timers, and tourists coming in. The menu includes fajitias, carne asada, tacos, tostadas, quesadillas with chicken, beef, or fish and shellfish choices.... More

Having dutifully researched Sedona restaurants in Trip Advisor, we were anxious to try #1 rated Elote Café and figured that if we were there right at opening time (5 pm), we would be able to get in without much of a wait. How naïve we were! The line already snaked well down the open air porch when we arrived, and... More

Chips and salsa were excellent. The food was good, not great. The service was just terrible. They repeatedly served us the wrong dishes. The server would set a plate in front of us and be wisk it away 10 seconds later. They never brought the appetizer And they completely forgot our drink order. They served us a dessert we didn't... The statues out front of the kids on roller blades may entice you in, but the margaritas will have you ordering more chips! Try the cheese dip and the Fiesta Margarita for a great sweet and salty combo. Had a large group, but was accommodated nicely. Check out the javelina statues too.

We were very happy to find the outside patio deserted, even though the inside seating was almost full. There had been rain off and on during the afternoon and early evening, and I guess we were the only ones crazy enough to chance an outside table. We sat beside the fountain, with the Sedona landscape looking gorgeous in the setting... More

When we arrived the hostess was on the phone maybe taking a reservation so a middle aged lady tried to seat us at one of the tables close to the entrance so I asked to move to another table. She didn't like that and threw down the menus on the other table and left without another word. I then figured... More

Well worth a visit. Great service and generous plates. The burritos are big enough for 3. Also, a very beautiful sculpture outside of a Native-American brave with his family.

We were seated right away on the patio and we had chips salsa and guacamole, which was delicious and homemade. I had the veggie fajitas with corn tortillas, my husband had enchiladas, which he had been craving, and my son had a super burrito. The food was some of the best we had on our whole vacation. They even gave... More

We have lived in this area from San Diego for 2-1/2 years and have found Javelina Cantina to be the best Mexican food in the Verde Valley. We try to come here at least once every couple of weeks.
