Despite the name, Cafe Jose serves good old-fashioned home style cooking. It is a classic American diner which also happens to serve good Mexican food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served all day. Cafe Jose is a favorite spot for local residents. It has won the local award for the past several years for "Best Home Cooking," "Best Breakfast," "Best Family Dining." "Friendliest Wait Staff," and "Best Overall Bargain." The food is not fancy, but it is tasty and served with a smile. The portions are large, but meals are priced to fit anyone's budget.

Great Find

Spending a week in Sedona we happened upon this restaurant. Kinda hard to find, as it is near the Safeway grocery and is not a large establishment. It is not a fancy place nor does it compete with other Sedona restaurants as far as being expensive. If you want great food at a very... read more

Rice was dry, beans were dry. How does someone mess up these basic staples?Remainder of meal was bland. Dumbfounded by the good reviews they get. We chose this place based on reviews. Very disappointing - we won't be back.

Mexican dishes were not as expected. Flavor was unexpected on both burrito and tacos. Service was okay but not exceptional.

Tucked into a strip center with a large grocery store, this cafe is very clean with lots of patio and indoor seating. I'd call it Mexican/American food as they have the usual breakfast dishes from both cultures. We had the Black Forest omelette, hash browns and toast, but they offer lots of other delishious sounding combos. They serve breakfast all... More

We went to Jose's a couple times while we were staying in Sedona. We like the breakfasts. The Denver scramble is very good and they give you a lot to eat. The food is always hot and has good flavor. Next time we visit Sedona we will stop again for breakfast.
