This place was fantastic to stop in and eat breakfast at. The food was of superior quality and huge portion sizes. I got the breakfast burrito and my wife had the pumpkin french toast. They both were amazing. Add in an Americano and a Dirty Chi...poof...excellent breakfast! With all of that and it being a tourist area, you would think... More

A friend of ours had recommended Garland's and we were glad we went for dinner. The lodge is in a beautiful, quiet, peaceful setting. We sat outside for drinks watching the sun set. Then the dinner bell rang. This was a set meal of four courses. First was delicious beet soup, then salad, the main course was Halibut, and apple... More

I heard that the lodge had been sold, but don't know the time frame. I'd been wanting to go on a night when beef filet was the feature, and I wasn't disappointed. There was a southwestern theme to the dinner--red chile bread, tortilla soup, salad with cilantro lime dressing, ancho cream sauce on the filet and tres leches cake for... More

The magic begins as you drive across the creek to enter the property.... The bell for dinner rings at 7pm, arrive early for a beverage on the lawn or inside the lodge. The gracious setting of the dining room so beautiful, the staff so welcoming - you will like you have come home. The food is truly above and beyond... More

We were the first guests back in after the Slide Rock fire, which started a very short distance from the property. We worried for naught about smoke, smells, etc. It was as wonderful as ever and we found tiny green shoots already sprouting up in the charcoal rich burn area. Gary Garland was the hero, with the property ready and... More

The Prix Fixe dinner featuring roast chicken and fresh produce from their gardens was terrific, even if the portions were too much for us! BTW, we were there the 1st day they reopened after the Slide Fire and the Lodge, cabins and grounds are just as beautiful as ever.

Lovely setting. Went with another couple. They serve one meal per evening but do cater to diet restrictions. Each meal comes with a soup, then salad, entree, and a dessert. It was rack of lamb that evening. Everything was nicely prepared. Nice selection of wine and cocktails. A memorable institution.

once you have been to Garland's you will return. It is like a secret club, everyone waves and talks to everyone else. A breathtaking spot, a little heaven on earth. And the food is wonderful, much of it fresh picked and coming right from the garden to the table.

We loved the breakfast pastry selection including scones. They have great coffee, a beautiful outdoor garden in which to enjoy the food and a good variety of fun local foods and t-shirts, etc to take home as gifts. The staff needs a plug because of their helpfulness and genuine interest in their patrons.
