Someone suggested Ajo Als to us and we went. It's easy to find and they do have a happy hour from 3 to 6 pm which is busy. We arrived at 7 pm after the crowd. The Gold Margaritas are very good and reasonably priced. They bring out nice warm chips and salsa which unfortunately I ate to many of,... More

When I say "Perkins-type" I mean Perkins as in the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, but too slick and mainstream. The food was the same. The food was bland and it was mexican food! I wouldn't return. I like my mexican food to have flavor and not feel like I'm in Perkins. (Nothing against Perkins if you like that kind... More

Enjoyed another great evening of food, fun and friends. Ajo Al's continues to provide the best Combo Fajitas in the area. The flour tortillas are very hot when opened and very fresh. The side dishes with the fajitas are tastefully done and lots of them.

We moved to the Phoenix area about two months ago and have eaten at several different Mexican places looking for the best. We are not sure this one is the best, but it will sure do until a better one comes along. Chips and salsa were absolutely fine...not perfect...but more than acceptable. My wife tried their green chicken enchilada and... More

Whenever I am in Scottsdale, I make a stop at Ajo Al's. It's good Mexican food with a nice atmosphere. A big plus is that there are a number of entrees to choice from. I have never been dissapointed with my choices. The staff are also ready to help and very nice. If your travel's bring you out to the... More

We ate here after our favorite place had gone out of business. The service was fast, friendly and the food was good. The portions were large, and prices were around $ 11/person for an entrée. We did have a child, and the kids menu was pretty lacking, especially for a typical picky eating child. Overall, a good experience.

Let's begin by stating, I'd return for another meal. A nice decor and pleasant and helpful wait staff are the prelim's to a wonderful meal. Let's mention a spotlessly clean restaurant with a large menu, many options to choose from. The Margarita was excellent and the salsa, although somewhat bland for me, was "perfect" for my wife. The Shea Blvd.... More

While the food is not the typical hot and spicy Mexican that I think of, the ingredients are always very fresh and they happily "tweak" what you order if you want it done a bit differently. Pleasant staff whether dining inside, outside or taking out. Wish they had a better bar area. 4-5 stools is not enough.

Not bad, but certainly not the best. Portions are large and the dining room is pleasant, those are the two highlights. Quality and taste are average, nothing bad but also nothing outstanding. The service was so so. Our waiter was very friendly, but he forgot to put in our appetizer order, so the entrees came out with out it. A... More
