Food was light and very flavorful. Small and very casual. It's not easy to see at first because of the national sandwich company that is blocking it.

Nice individual owned cafe with quality food and espresso, etc. Pastries are of course what you go for here. Service is with a smile and like individual owned places they show they care

This place has the best hash browns I have ever had. First time I never needed ketchup. That is really saying something for a simple dish done so poorly everywhere else. It makes these hashbrowns genius. The pastries here are uber cute. Macaroons? awesome. The eggs are organic and cage free. Amazingly, with all of the home made goods the... More

A small storefront restaurant with a somewhat limited list of entrees on its menu, the food is delicious and nicely presented and reasonably priced. A true jewel still slightly in the rough.

Scratch Pastries, a small restaurant tucked into a strip mall, created a delightfully personal eating experience for the two of us. Half the restaurant had been reserved for a large party. The wait staff was as attentive to us as he was to the large group. Our meals were perfect, in proportion, flavour and presentation. The meal was excellent value... More

Went with friends on a sunday, and I was very disappointed. My friends ordered the benedict with salmon, and florentine, and I had the country brunch. Mine came first, and the other came more than 5 minutes later. The country brunch was supposed to include orange juice, coffee, bacon, eggs, potatoes and pastries, butter and jam. The bacon, orange juice... More

Scratch is a little hard to find. It sits almost a block north of Indian School Road in a strip mall. It looks like a bakery - - and it is. But the breakfasts are terrific. The specialties are things like eggs benedict and french toast. Service may seem slow because everything is prepared fresh. Nothing frozen. Service is professional... More

This is a find- recommended to my wife by a friend. French pastries freshly made , excelelnt sandwiches and perfect raisin danishes for dessert( not drowning in sugar and butter) . We had a delicious brunch/lunch, washed down with strong coffee

This is a great bistro with clean, friendly service. We had the onion soup (delicious) and crepes as well as quiche. The bread was very good also. We did not have room for dessert, but will make sure next time we are in Scottsdale we stop to try their pastries which looked terrific

This is a wonderful spot for a Sunday brunch! When we arrived with another couple, they made special arrangements for us, as we had a baby in tow (luckily she slept the whole time). The edges are cage-free and delicious - wonderful and served with hash browns and salad. You must try the pastries - OH MY! Heavenly! We we... More
