We tried the north Scottsdale location this trip. The menu offers somewhat sophisticated Mexican fare (no burritos or fajitas here): potato and hibiscus tacos, sweet (with raisins) peccadillo tacos or quesadillas, salads with figs, jicama, crab, mango; entrees featuring chicken, snapper, salmon, trout, lamb, pork, or rib eye steak. The chile rellenos are excellent. The guacamole is fresh and chunky... More

The atmosphere was great! I sat out on the patio with my sweetie. The Martguerita was great and the Guacamole even better. The food took a little long to come, but it was worth the wait. I had the Chicken with Chipolte Spinach Sauce..and my sweetie had the Hibiscus Enchiladas. The server ws very personable! We'll be back!

The atmosphere and food here were great. They have a very nice patio where you can sit outside and enjoy the lovely Scottsdale weather without getting too much sun. The food was delicious - my mom had the potato tacos (yes, potato) and they were delicious - not a bad small meal for under $10. My husband and I had... More

We were excited about the prospect of an upscale Mexican restaurant in our area so gave it a try. Friday night at 6 pm and only one other table filled. Yet we waited for service and then a full 20 minutes for 2 sangrias. I ordered the chili rellenos, which were served in a soup bowl covered in what can... More

My husband and I went last night at 4:30pm for an early dinner since we had an appointment at 6pm in Cave Creek. We never thought that the service we be so slow we wouldn't get out of there until 6pm so we weren't able to make our appointment. Even though it was the day before Cinco de Mayo the... More

My wife and I went to Los Sombreros on Northsight in North Scottsdale for happy hour and we were the only two customers in the restaurant. Note----the restaurant must seat over 200 people including the patio--good news, we got our choice of tables. Our server was talking to other employees and pretty much ignored us so we had to wait... Forget your Tex-Mex or New Mexican red, even the Mexican food modified to accommodate the gringos pallet. Los Sombreros produces innovative dishes featuring the true flavors of Old Mexico.

The food was authentic and delicious! So much food! Yolanda was incredibly helpful in recommending dishes. And despite tons of food and drinks, the bill came out to just $44/person. Yum!

The food here really is Outstanding. You will NOT FIND flour tortillas, Burritos, Regular Tacos or them plates buried under lots of cheese. Instead you'll find delicious Hibiscus Tacos and a Chicken Breast stuffed with Hultlacoche and goat cheese. This is NOT YOUR REGULAR MEXICAN the food is from Central Mexico and is VERY GOOD if not Excellent. They have... More

Genuine article. Sat on the beautiful patio - very attentive service. Guacamole and quest Fundido were both excellent. Soups come in large bowls - get the Cup - it is a good sized bowl and more. Than you will be able to finish. Pork Carnitas and Puerco in adobo were both excellent - great flavor and very large portions. Flan... More
