Great Restaurant with Prices to Match

Based on a recommendation from a friend, I and 2 business associates went to Cowboy Ciao while I was in Phoenix. I was very impressed with the food and service. The Chopped Salad was unlike any salad I have had, with many unique and tasty ingredients. The lamb dish I had was excellent with the lamb... read more

Great wine list but strangely organized (price as opposed to grape). Gems: short ribs, scallops, coffee drink. Average streak. Salad that everyone raves about was okay as well. Service was odd--almost like he didn't want to be there. Bottom Line: Nothing special. There are much better options in the area.

We decided to go to Cowboy Ciao to celebrate our 26th anniversary. We had a table by a floor length window, which was neat. They have a wonderful list of summer martinis to try. We loved the one with basil and cucumber. We shared the shrimp and elote appetizer. 5 fresh large shrimp sitting on top of creamy, mildly spicy... More

Creative Menu - a hit - generally well done - try the Stetson Salad. Service was slow; everything was a long wait - despite the empty tables. Drink menu - a miss. They are trying to be creative with their cocktails, however can't do the basics well. I revamp is needed.

We went as a foursome! Wonderful wine list! We ordered appetizers of scallops, prawns and cheese plate. All were really good! Entrée orders were meatloaf, filets and short ribs! No complaints about any of the food! Large portions and delicious side pairings! We all 4 split the oatmeal cookie ice cream! Outstanding! I would give it a 5 star but... More

We were wandering around Scottsdale, looking at this and that, and decided to stop in for appetizers. We sat at the bar, to enjoy the hub-bub and action in the kitchen - it was relaxing, and entertaining. We tried the Buffalo Carpaccio and the another appetizer, but I really remember the carpaccio - it was delicious! The bar tender was... More

As pescatarians we were a bit skeptical, as there were not many options on the menu for us, but the vegetarian hostess convinced us to give it a go and we are so glad we did! We went with the servers recommendations. Started with a Stetson Chopped salad each ( 1 with salmon the other with avocado). ORDER THIS SALAD... More

Enjoyed the Cowboy Ciao experience. Very good wait staff, attentive and friendly. Many have raved about the "Stetson Chopped". We ordered it for the table and honestly I don't get it, enjoyed it but not what I was expecting. Ordered the short ribs, they were very good. a little on the spicy side but good.

We always get the Stetson chopped. It is so amazing. This time even more amazing, we found out we could add avocado. Also had the bruschetta and 'quesadilla del dia', which this time was steak tips and bell peppers. All very enjoyable.

My husband and I had been taken to Cowboy Ciao several years ago when we were visiting from Florida, and I always remembered a great meal in a cool, funky location. We picked it to have dinner with another couple who have traveled and eaten just about everywhere, and they loved it, too. Our personable and knowledgable waiter, Ralphie, was right... More
