Arrived unannounced with a colleague, and were sat in the bar area: similar seating, and the same menu. We were underneath an aircon outlet, and moved as we were getting a little cold, but no other complaints at all. The service was excellent, the food also. We had: - lobster - fillet mignon - t-bone steak My t-bone was excellent,... More

This Steakhouse is located in the beautiful Phoenician Resort. This restaurant is a steak house and more featuring some foods laced with mildly Asian Flavors. The two plates we had that Blew me away were the delicious Tuna Tartare and the scrumptious Black Truffle Cheese Fritters. These are MUST get plates! I can't always eat raw tuna and my husband... The view was absolutely stunning; we went at 5:30 as the sun was setting in brilliant pinks against the rocky landscape. The steak was delicious. And best of all, when my son found his chosen entree "too chewy", the maitre de was so kind; he took my son seriously and very generously had a tender piece of filet brought out.

The steaks were cooked to perfection, although I didn't care for the optional sauces as they overpowered the steak. The sides were perfection! It is a steakhouse, and not as good as his other restaurants, but it is on par with a Morton's, Ruth Chris or S&W.

Sorry J&G and the Phoenician. I would love to give J&G an excellent rating - the food was excellent and your ambience/view can't be beat but our waiter was just OK. A little inattentive and not much personality. I'm guessing you nail it 9 out of 10 times so I wouldn't hesitate to return for another try. My peppercorn strip... More

Last evening my hubby and I and another couple tried J & G for the first...and last...time." Knock your socks off" fantastic view. Wine (Tuscano sangiovese and Oregon pinot noir) and drinks (cosmo) were great but then.... Appetizers crispy calamari were well prepared, but dip was not enhancing, six cheese ball were good too.Wait for main entree was endless.Granted they... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to write about your thoughts on your evening. We try to avoid timing issues with large groups, but clearly in this case we failed to get your food out in a timely manner. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit to the Scottsdale area! More

Typical dark wood club style steak house – with an air of sophistication. Good wine. Steak was good. Heritage tomato salad with onions – came with good tasting slices of green, orange and red tomatoes – Russian dressing and then to top it greasy batter covered onion rings – could have been good with a few thin slices of red... Felt pretty typical for a hotel steakhouse. Service was good not great. Same for the food. Was fine for the convenience factor of being in the resort, but not worth a special trip.

The beef was excellent. The wine list was somewhat limited and really didn't have the upscale offerings that you would expect in an upscale steak house. The food and service was outstanding.

We appreciate you taking the time to tell people about your dinner with us. We are happy that you enjoyed the food and service. We continue to try to improve our wide-ranging wine list with both depth and "super premium" choices, so when you come to see us again, there should be a couple of new surprises for you! More
