I have enjoyed Indian food in many countries including India and this restaurant is above average for the area. Indian food tends to be regional and this cuisine is similar to Northern India. I think that the owner is from Pakistan

The female waitress treated us as if we were a bother, was very forgetful, and she was verging on rude at times, otherwise the food was pretty good, although my lamb was overdone. The place was not busy, we were the only table for over half an hour. Portions are good, although it is not possible to order many vegetables... More

It was a Saturday night and as a part-time British ex-pat, that means an Indian! So we tried this restaurant as we had enjoyed the Italian place next door. The place was empty at 7.30pm which didn't bode well. We ordered the traditional starter of poppadums which came with 2 spicy dips, neither of which were the traditional mango chutney... More

The food is Indian which we found out is not our favorite. You can order the level of spice (from 1 to 10); we ordered 5 and it was too spicy for us.

I have visited al-hamra many times before, but i never tasted extra-ordinary food. Esp this restaurant is famous for Non-Veg. This very time seems it has improved much. My spouse liked the mutton and it was amazing channa masala for me :) Location of this restaurant is amazing as a quiet place to enjoy your meals

I've been to a few Indian restsurants here in the valley and was not impressed. We ended up in Al Hamra because of a Living Social deal. The food was excellent. We had the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The chicken tikka masala was full of flavor and the garlic naan was light with a crisp bottom, excellent! The... More

When we arrived there was no one else dining, so we were not too sure what to think. I love Indian food, so was super excited to stick around & try it out though. We sat outside on the patio which was nice. It was clean & more guests started to arrive as the evening progressed. The service was just... More

Great food. I'm an Indian officionado, of 25 years standing. Flavors spices and sauces are most excellent. We caught them with their pants down, on a night fully half the staff were sick. And it still rocked. Naan are completely fresh, and sauces were *obviously* made to order. No criticisms.

Four of us ate here on the last evening of our trip to Arizona. We were planning on a late afternoon lunch or early dinner, but we found they weren't open until 5pm. None of the other eateries in this little mall were open yet, either. Nice atmosphere, both in the courtyard of the mall and inside, where it was... More

I have eaten Indian food in many cities in India, New York, California, and Arizona. This is one of the very best Indian restaurants ever. The food can be as mild or as spicy as you like -- they ask on a scale of 1 to 10 what you prefer. Everything anyone has ever eaten there has been delicious and... More
