We had a hard time finding this place. Navigator said it was there, but could NOT see it because it does not face the street, but is sort of on a little plaza. We also had to pay to park at a rather inconvenient location. We were there to see the Flamenco dancing - I'd seen it in Madrid before... More

I was visiting a good friend and we decided to stop in Tapas Papa Fritas on a whim as we were walking by...ultimately on our way to Olive and Ivy. Even though it was not busy (and not busy for our entire stay), the host made a bit of a point about not having a reservation. Another server came by,... More

We showed up at 7pm without a reservation. The hostess seemed put out that we didn't have a reservation and I think would have turned us away. The main waiter intercepted and we were shown to a table outside overlooking the water. There were tables open then, and even after we had been seated for an hour so not sure... More

We have traveled to Spain and this is the first restaurant in the US that the food tasted so close to what we had in Spain. We had an assortment of tapas, garlic shrimp, asparagus, olives, steak can't remember the name, small sausages and of course paella. The paella was fantastic and we ate way to much of the great... What's not to like in this superb Spanish restaurant! The food is authentic tasty and well priced. The staff are friendly and attentive. We lucked out as we were there on Saturday night and the group and dancers were on and they are quite brilliant. First time in a while that I have been able to enjoy a real Cortado... More

They are located in a kind of square near the canal. We sat outside at a rustic table. It was a beautiful night and there was music we ordered drinks and of course food. OMG the food was amazing. They kept bringing out plate after plate and I tried it all. It was delish! I could have sat there, sipped... More

Great patio. Interesting and unique food choices and everything we tried was delicious. Loved the music coming from inside and there was a street fair going on below with additional music. Just charming.

I've been to Tapas Papa Frita numerous times now and they never fail to exceed my expectations. The food is simply phenomenal, they're doing Spanish tapas right. I've been to Spain and - like a true glutton - ate my way through my trip. This restaurant hits all the right notes and rivals the food I had there. Gracias!

We chose Tapas Papa Frita as a unique, old world spot in Old Town Scottsdale. We're locals (14 year transplants from New York and Chicago), foodies of a sort, and world travelers who enjoy adventures. Even if an experience is not the best we'll typically say "that was an adventure. We're glad we tried." This... was not an adventure. It... More
