Good Food

We dined at Tapas Papa Frita in Scottsdale. We were walkins, however, I would suggest reservations because everything in downtown Scottsdale was packed! The tapas my wife had were excellent and the Sole that I had was also very good.

I've been to Tapas Papa Frita numerous times now and they never fail to exceed my expectations. The food is simply phenomenal, they're doing Spanish tapas right. I've been to Spain and - like a true glutton - ate my way through my trip. This restaurant hits all the right notes and rivals the food I had there. Gracias!

We chose Tapas Papa Frita as a unique, old world spot in Old Town Scottsdale. We're locals (14 year transplants from New York and Chicago), foodies of a sort, and world travelers who enjoy adventures. Even if an experience is not the best we'll typically say "that was an adventure. We're glad we tried." This... was not an adventure. It... More

We made a reservation with a preference for patio seating. The table wasn't available so we waited at the bar. It wasn't very busy yet. We weren't addressed for several minutes when a bartender dropped off a wine menu then disappeared. We waited a while for a return visit until my friend tracked him down. We asked for a cocktail... We went here with family on a visit to Phoenix. Two of our party are locals and took us here for dinner. It was the first time having tapas for many of us, and we were very impressed. Everything we had was delicious, and we tried about 10 different dishes. The service was excellent as well. I highly recommend checking... More

I have never eaten at a tapas restaurant before, but my first experience at Tapas Papa Frita was great! I went with six other family members and we all ordered different appetizers and shared them with each other. Every appetizer was just as delicious as the next. For my main course I got the seafood pallela. Absolutely wonderful, and the... More

To start with, when I made the reservation and expressed interest in the music for the evening, the employee on the phone said we would enjoy the patio. I requested a table there. When we arrived, we were told the patio was not available and was only a requested feature, not guaranteed when making the reservation. We waited at least... More

We made the decision to try this restaurant after seeing it reviewed on the PBS show "Check Please Arizona!" I had tried paella a few times previously and didn't particularly like it, but I thought my husband and kids would because they love seafood. We made reservations at the time to see the Flamenco dancers. The dancers, especially the lady... More

We were seated immediately for our reservation and sat outside to enjoy the weather. Waiter helped with suggestions for our order. Once I tasted the bacon wrapped dates I knew I had to come back. They were so good our table had at least 5 orders. The lamb tenderloins and the potatoes with the prosciutto (can't remember the name) were... More

What I love about Tapas is you get to try so many different plates. My favorite was the Pimiento Piquillo con centollo which was a stuffed pepper with crab. It was something I had not had the privilege of eating before but If I ever see it on a menu again you bet I will be enjoying me some Pimiento... More
