Old Town Scottsdale’s heart is beating to a Latin drum, now that The Mission has arrived and brightened the restaurant scene. Renowned Zinc Bistro Chef Matt Carter is now cooking up modern Latin cuisine blending influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America and South America. Home made Tortillas, Arepas, and Salsas are made fresh daily and all meats are prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor.

This is not your typical Mexican restaurant where everything is prepared with gobs of cheese and drowned in mole. Dishes here are very high quality and prepared and presented in a first class manner. The tableside prepared gaucamole was wonderful and the premium liqueur magarita was very smooth. We ordered two taco plates for lunch(shrimp and pork) both were good... More

"Sunday Pig Out" build your own tacos were great. Patio got a little hot in the sun, but overall a great place with great service.

We sat at the long table by the bar that is lit from underneath. Definitely get the chips & salsa, it's some of the best I've ever had. We asked if they sell the salsa and they said no, too bad since we would've bought some to take home. The interior atmosphere is dark and old style, fitting the time... More

We had a wonderful table in the back garden. Our server was knowledgeable and warm. The menu is interesting and all the food was great! Shared street corn and pork belly lettuce wraps for appetizers--the crispy pork belly was amazing! Blood orange margaritas were different but tasty. The chef truly showed his skills on the entrees. The slow cooked pork... More

Great atmosphere, every food is a delight. Cocktails are excellent. Second time I am in Phoenix and I had to go back. I was not disappointed and neither were any of my colleagues.

Wow, wow, wow. Great place, from the tableside guacamole to the pork shoulder and pork tacos. Friendly service, decent beer selection. On the pricey side, but worth it. Best to make reservations, so you don't miss out.

This is a nice contemporary restaurant. We enjoyed the sweet corn (fabulous) and chicken skewer (a little bland) appetizers. Our main course included short ribs. My friend had hers as a meal with cheesy potatoes and mine as tacos. We finished the meal with espresso churros. Our waiter was very attentive. Atmosphere is dark and beautiful.

I loved this restaurant. There was a long wait for a table but I was able to grab the last seat at the bar and enjoyed the best coffee in a French press (seriously!), a kale salad and marvelous steak tacos. Seems like an odd combination, but it was great!

Although reservations are recommended, we were able to walk in for "linner" on a beautiful Spring Thursday. We chose to eat indoors tho the patio looked enticing. We enjoyed guacamole made tableside to our order - so yummy! Then tacos for our entree - beef for me and chicken for my husband. Both were very good, but I would given... More
