The Mission is a "must visit" in Old Scottsdale. We had amazing margaritas at the bar before moving to the back patio for dinner. The patio was beautiful, twinkle lights, candles, flora, and importantly a great fan to keep us cool. More margaritas and fresh tableside guacamole, which was incredible. The Malbec braised short ribs were to delicious. If you... More

The ambiance in this restaurant is wonderful - charming, interesting, great lighting, seating. The atmosphere all around is terrific. We wanted to dine here for over a year because the outside of the restaurant looks so enchanting so we finally went out on a date-night and walked in on a Wednesday night. We had drinks at the bar to start... More

Very difficult to get reservations during prime dinner times but take what you can get because the food is outstanding. The guacamole and the corn appetizers are delicious and the pork tacos are to die for!

This place is a little gem. Cocktails and food is lovely and very fresh. The Guacamole alone makes it worth a visit but the fish tacos and sweet potato fries are delicious.

Very nice restaurant. I have eaten here twice. Both meals were excellent. The ambiance is Mexican in an elegant, upscale atmosphere.

This restaurant has it all, wonderful atmosphere, good service and great food. We shared a kale salad, which was good (I hate kale) and a plate of pulled pork tacos which were fabulous. Dessert of chocolate pastilla and pumpkin bread pudding was divine. My wife tells me that the margaritas were great. This place is very busy and quite noisy,... More

I went with a friend, and the service started off really well, but lost steam by the end. We started with tableside guacamole, which was nice, but nothing special. Had some gorditas, shrimp skewers, and chicken tacos for appetizers. The first two were good, the chicken tacos were actually kind of dry and not super tasty. I had fish (forget... More

Excellent lunch today at The Mission in old Scottsdale.  I appreciate a great meal, however It is unusual that I consider Mexican food excellent.   We started with chips and salsa.  The salsa tasted authentic, thick, rich with a hint of smoky flavor.  The chips were thin, warm and tasted flash fried. We loved them. We did not opt for... More

Late dinner on a Friday night and the place was packed. Service was average, had to ask for chips and salsa and had to wave down the waiter a couple of times. The decor is great, as the location is an old church (or at least looks like one). My wife is Peruvian and gave the chicken anticuchos a satisfactory... More

Glowing descriptions on TA of the imaginative and well-prepared nuevo mexicano cuisine are not at all exaggerated. Kitchen and service can both be disorganized -- at the same time, it might appear -- but management is inclined to step in and make things right, when brought to their attention. Delightful room, and experience, especially over many Mimosas on any relaxed... More
