The only reason I give Cafe Monarch 4 stars is because the menu selection is limited. They had 3 entrees to pick from the night we were there and I was fine with all of them but others in my party would have liked a bigger selection. I had a filet that was done med med rare and it came... More

Our meal was perfect in every way. This restaurant is one of the best I have ever dined in. The menu is prix-fixe; it is fine for omnivores and vegetarians alike. Pick your choice from the entree; the two appetizers can be prepared to accommodate vegetarians. Each course is imaginative and perfectly prepared. The presentation is beautiful, as are the... More

Finding this little gem is difficult but once you arrive, it's like walking through a Spanish villa a garden. The atmosphere is stunning. I felt like I was in a Merchant-Ivory film. Then came the meal. Everything is prixe fix with several courses and a choice of entree. The menu changes weekly so you are always in for a new... More

This place was perfect all around. The atmosphere was quaint & well done to provide an intimate experience both indoors and outdoors on the patio. Reservations were a must as this place was busy the entire time we were there. We had excellent service & were impressed with the teamwork of the staff. Now the food & drinks- WOW! It... More

Booked for New Year Eve based on the great reviews we read and the menu that was posted for that evening. It was unusually cold and we did not realize that almost all the seating was outside in the very pretty and romantically lit courtyard. Although there were plenty of heaters, it just wasn't enough to counteract the breezes and... More

A simple anniversary dinner turned into the most fabulous meal. My husband and I know great beef, we are from Alberta. Maybe because this was grain fed, but it was the best fillet mignon we both ever had! I booked it mentioning our anniversary and they ended our meal with a very special dessert and a small gift. A very... More

Was at the Cafe Monarch last May and it was a wonderful experience so decided to go back since we were in town again. This time was not so good. When I had reserved I stated a preference for inside but when we got there I was asked if I wanted inside or out. That would lead me to believe... More

I'm pretty stingy with five-star ratings, but Cafe Monarch definitely deserves it. We were a party of two couples celebrating a special occasion. When we made our Open Table reservation, we had a few requests. These requests were honored seemingly without effort-- which of course means that much effort went into it. We felt very well taken care of. The... More
