A local recommend the place. She said they had authentic Mexican food.. and she was right. I ordered a seafood dish that came with fresh vegetables, I cleaned the plate. The food server was great at providing service.I judge a place by the experience, this place created an excellent meal and service experience

Really good food. Very friendly staff. I had the stuffed shrimp and it was excellent. My wife had the shrimp medallions and also excellent. I think fish is their expertise, but all the meals looked inviting. We also went for lunch and had the soup Decameron. Very generous on the shrimp and very good portion. Breakfests looked good but we... More

If you are in the Rio Rico area then this a good place to eat. Menu has a wide variety of seafood, meat, mexican dishes, at a reasonable price. Happy hour prices on adult drinks, the only drawback is that you cannot watch sports on the big screen, otherwise I would rate excellent.

We live in Rio Rico AZ and we've been to La Bocanita twice. The first time, we ordered deep fried fish and it came out with breading that, instead of being light golden brown, was DARK brown and not appetizing. I almost sent it back, but I just peeled it away and ate the fish inside which was okay but... More

The English menu descriptions are sparse at best but the food and the service were fabulous! Not your regular 'Tex-Mex' but great authentic Mexican fare and ice cold beer! The salsa was fabulous and the sea food quite fresh given how far they are from the ocean!

Great place for a late lunch. Delicious mochomos, don't have to cross the border any more. Fresh seafood. Good atmosphere. Great place to meet your friends for drinks and grub.

La Bocanita was a pleasant surprise. Hard to find at first, get off I19 at the Peck Canyon exit and go 50 feet west then turn south (L) and go about a mile and a half. It's on the left. The shrimp stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon are really good but the highlight was the beef taco. Also... More

Surprisingly good meal! Friends brought us to this small, but clean restaurant. On our own, my husband and I probably would have not walked in. We're very glad we did. The waitress was kind enough to bring me a small portion of their white sauce so I could determine if it were too hot for me. It was delicious. Two... More

La Bocanita offers seafood, Mexican food, steaks and burgers, but seafood is its real specialty. We went on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was packed. We had to wait some time for our food, but we had chips and HOT salsa to tide us over. My shrimp was delicious. My husbands seafood and steak platter was also very good.... More

We had a reserved table on a busy weekend evening; but it took a long while before a server arrived. This is a family atmosphere, and an excellent musician was performing. Each of us had different menu items, and we were all pleasantly surprised with the exceptional quality of the food. This restaurant is known for its variety of seafood... More
