We stumbled upon this sushi restaurant years ago when we had an appointment nearby and, we liked it so much that we started going back regularly. For several years, we showed up every Tuesday night, when we were seated at "our table" and brought "the usual", including their yummy Salmon Dynamite, Unagi nigiri from which the eel hung off both... Fresh sushi, large sashimi and Nigiri pieces. Great value and interesting specials. New menu which expands their menu pretty significantly. Sat at sushi bar during last visit. Nice enough, but definitely treat their regulars in a different way than their regular customers (not unexpected, but at times a little uncomfortable). The sushi place to go to in Ahwatukee

I have been here many times for lunch, and when Desiree is working, one word describes it all: WOW! This young lady is the best waitress ever! When you are in a rush, Desi can get iy done FAST. Ramon is an award-winning chef and with their lunch specials being reasonably priced, I can always afford a nice tip and... More

This a combo teppanyaki and sushi restaurant, pretty traditional in setup. Service was great, food was very average - the meat was bland and mediocre in quality, the sashimi portions were generous, but freshness left something to be desired. I would recommend this for casual dining, but it may be cost prohibitive as such - the prices are top-tier with... More

The sushi here is very fresh and very tasty! The baked salmon and chicken teriyaki dishes are excellent as well. Service here is always great and the manager will always come to your table and share a few words with you.

I used to eat at Sakana several times a week when I worked close by. It was a delicious ritual. Last night, my husband and I wanted sushi and I wondered what had ever happened to Sakana. I am so glad we went back. I heard it is still owned by the same gentleman from years ago which is pretty... More

The good was this place was near my hotel. The food was decent but didn't taste exceptional. Dinner for one with no alcohol ran $20. The service was good and friendly. Not someplace to go for a special date, but for a solo traveler or a family, I'd recommend it.

I remember visiting this sushi place in 2008, however when I left Phoenix I couldnt remember the name to give it a review. To this day I havent found a sushi place that can hold a candle to this place. They give you enourmus portions, great atmosphere. I love this place!

I LOVE this sushi place! As many of the good ones are, this sushi restaurant is tucked away inconspicuously into a strip mall. While this can be a turn off from the outside, it seems like the cheaper rent for the owner translates into cheaper prices for the customer. I thought the prices seemed pretty low - two of us... What a find! Sushi was exemplary as was the tempura. Staff were great and the owner even came to our table to see how things were and to tell us about some upcoming specials and events. Highly recommended.
