A couple of my friends and I went to this restaurant to have lunch. The food was not the greatest, especially the bento box. The worst part is that it actually gave me an upset stomach. After I had finished eating, I felt it right...away. Which makes me question the cleanliness of the food or the preparation process.More
Food is always stellar, service is extroadinaire, the umami of everything!!!! Never in 15 years + bedn disappointed. THE BOMB!!!, Not a dish or app that havent tried n enjoyed immensely. EACH WITH UNIQUE FLAVOR N DESIRE!!! YUMMO YUMMO YUMMO!!!More
This place is the worst! I took my family here to celebrate my son's graduation yesterday and made a reservation a week in advance, but when we got there they sat us in 2 different tables and when I spoke to the manager an a...server they were very rude and told us we couldn't have Two tables together. Plus they sat us at the other restaurant next to it. After a long wait and not even the drink order, the server was rude to my wife because we said the two tables were one order, they wanted to give us two different servers. Food was just ok. But the "cherry" on the top was the next day when I check my bank balance. They had charged me $600 MORE FOR THE FOOD!!!!!!! I called to speak to them and they said it was an error and they already refunded the balance. I asked to speak to the manager and he/she is never available. They said they would call back. NOTHING!! Not even a sorry for the mistake!I called again at night and the manager is still AWOL. I talked to a guy and he is basically saying screw you wait for the refund in 7 days!!!! And then proceeds to hang up on me after I get mad and tell them this is not my fault. Avoid this sh**hole like the plague!!! Me and my wife used to go here regularly but no more.More
I'm giving this place a '5' rating in part because they succeed at something a lot of restaurants fail at - being good at two distinct cuisines. We had a slight issue finding them, as (for some reason) there are two different 10th streets next...to each other (10th Street and 10th Place...who does that?). The restaurant is located in a small plaza of shops, with limited parking. There may be an additional lot on the other side, but we managed to find a space. The restaurant has 2 doors, which seemed to confuse some people. From the layout (and an old sign out front), it appears that this used to be a straight up Japanese noodle place, where you ordered at a counter. They expanded into the space next door, added more dining tables and a small lobby, and left the counter in the other side for...take out orders? It was a bit odd, but it seemed to work out. We arrived on a Saturday evening after 6 p.m. It was crowded but surprisingly there was no wait. Service was a little slow in getting started but was fine after that. I think the rest of our party ordered Asian noodle dishes. I opted for their take on capellini Pomodoro as I had attempted to order that at an Italian place a few nights prior but had just gotten spaghetti instead. This time, the order was correct and it was really good. Not just 'good for a place that specializes in Japanese food', but plain good vs. Italian places. The others liked their ramen, etc. as well. We also split an order of pot stickers as an appetizer, and those were good also. I'd go back here if I lived in the area.More
Excellent quality and very good service. Extensive menu (Asian fusion), sushi, Thai, Korean, Japanese, noodles. I had the spicy Korean beef and noodles ; my wife the pad Thai - both great. Quiet comfortable venue .. quite busy - good social distancing protocols. Surprisingly, we...saw some amazing pastry chef dessert selections . We will be back.More
As someone who grew up in Japan, I’ve really enjoyed the food. I ordered the Tenzaru (cold buckwheat noodle with shrimp tempura), I can’t get this at restaurants where I live, so this was an easy choice for me. My partner got udon suki and...that was very good as well!More
Really delightful. All 3 of us loved our rice bowl and noodle bowls. All fresh, friendly staff. Will be back again!
This place was amazing! The 3 people I was traveling with LOVED it, the food was incredible and the menu has so much to offer in terms of different Asian cuisine! The Miso Ramen is delicious, the Shrimp tempura was fried perfectly, all the meat...in the bentos were cooked well! I have zero complaints on this restaurant! The service was also very polite and fun! I enjoyed talking with the host! I will be stopping here a few more times in the future to try more of the menu!More
My boyfriend and I were excited to try Cherry Blossom, we both love Japanese food, and he especially loves katsudon. First, the location is hard to find, as the sign on the road says Tokyo Express, which is next door - also odd to have...2 Japanese places next to each other? The exterior looks like an English cottage, and when you walk in there's a table with banana bread and baked goods, and we wondered if we were in the right place? We got a table in the back, very quiet. Our server was friendly but did not say her name. The menus we were given didn't match the website, so there were things we were excited to try that weren't actually options. I asked questions due to a seafood allergy, and my bf had questions about the katsudon - whether it had a broth in addition to the pork, egg, and rice, and she didn't know. There was an awkward pause and she offered to go and ask someone. I usually order filet cuts of beef, but they didn't offer that, so I asked if their NY Strip was lean, and she said not really. Some of the other items I was considering included fish ingredients, so I still ordered the NY strip iron skillet dinner, and my bf got the pork katsudon. The server brought out my salad, which was greens with a dressing that was citrusy but also savory, but no other veggies on the salad, just greens. She informed me that the miso soup has "fish flakes" so I wouldn't want it, but didn't offer an alternative, and I did pay for it, as it was included in the price of my dinner. When my bf tried the miso soup, he spit it out, and said it tasted like a dirty fish tank smells. YUCK. That'll ruin your appetite. The server randomly stopped by with a basket with 2 small bread rolls. They were good, but more than 2 would've been nice? When our entrees arrived, I was expecting the steak to be cut into strips, as it is in hibachi cooking, and the description said it included vegetables. What came was a skillet with large rings of onion, and large wedges of green pepper, topped with a whole steak. It looked like what you'd get at Chilis or a tex mex restaurant! I don't care for onions or peppers, so I asked for another plate to cut my steak, which was fatty and not cooked as ordered. The seasoning was ok, but it was better when I dipped it into the sauce that was hiding under the onions on the skillet. After trimming the fat, not much meat was left, certainly not enough to warrant the price of the meal, minus the soup I couldn't have and the pile of greens. My bf's katsudon smelled weird, but he tried it anyway. He said the sauce, which the server described as "chicken broth and soy sauce," was exactly that. It wasn't a chicken broth base with soy sauce and other seasonings, it was literally, chicken broth and soy sauce poured over rice. Instead of tempura breading on the pork, it tasted like Italian breading, which makes some sense given the Italian dishes offered, but not how actual katsu should be. The egg was partially scrambled in with the rice rather than being a fried egg placed on top. It advertised including vegetables, but it was literally just onions, which he doesn't like and had to pick out. Overall, the dish was really awful in every way. We were both so disappointed at this point, we just wanted to leave, so we didn't consider dessert. Our total was $34 including 2 sodas, and we both left hungry. We won't be back, and we recommend saving your money.More
They had very good lunch specials, great variety of options and the food was fresh and made to order. Delicious! I regret not taking pics. Will absolutely recommend and come back soon.
Great place, very friendly service and great food! The Tempura Shrimp and Udon noodle soup bowl is my go too! I love the service and food. It is one of my main stays!
We consistently receive high level of service from our favorite waiter Noli (I'm not sure of spelling.) He always remembers us and even what our favorite foods are. The food is sooo good, every time. The sushi is super fresh and beautifully presented. I like...the grilled fish dinner or sometimes the grilled fish salad. The miso soup is excellent and it comes with the fish dinner along with a small fresh salad and rice. I request ginger dressing for my salad and I choose brown rice. Very healthy. We sometimes choose the curry chicken. Very tasty and it is not Indian curry...maybe it is Japanese curry. Very tasty. Ramen bowls are very tasty and are a generous serving. We like to arrive to take advantage of happy hour prices on some of the appetizers...gyozo are very good. Their hot green tea is a green tea that I like. Maybe it is a roasted tea...not sure but it has a nice flavor. The restaurant has been here for many years. I like the cozy interior and observing the open kitchen if we sit at table near the kitchen. The dessert case is always beautiful to see. I've enjoyed the beautiful strawberry shortcake...desserts are made by the restaurant's bakery. They also make beautiful banana bread and have loaves for sale...see them when you enter the restaurant. Weekends are quite busy for dinner and I think they don't take reservations on weekends. During the week we have gone for early dinner and never have to wait to be seated.More
Cherry Blossom Cafe is one of Phoenix’s most tasty and unique restaurants. It offers both tasty Japanese noodle dishes like yakisoba and excellent Italian noodle dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese. On this particular visit I was celebrating with my wife. We had a sushi roll combo...where you can pick two rolls. We chose spicy tuna and California rolls. With the sushi combo you get one miso soup with wakame and salad. For dinner I chose pork belly yakisoba and my wife had kitsune ramen. The portions are very decent sized. We probably could have just shared sushi and one dish next time. The ambiance is homey and clean. Cherry Blossom Cafe has kind of a vibe like you are eating at someone’s house. It reminds me of eating at a relaxing casual but well styled restaurant in Lumine in Tokyo. The service is always top notch. You are seated right away and our server was super fast. He handled additional items like more tea and sushi like a pro. Love the Cherry Blossom!More
Has been a while since last here, wanted to take a friend out for lunch and we were near. We have always found the place to be a good destination and this time was no exception. The seating was immediate, the atmoshere is pleasant, and...the service was excellent. This place is very uniquie, combining Italian and Japanese menus in one location. Gives many choices. Noodles are a specialty, along with Beto boxes, on the Japanese menu.More
