Saw this restaurant reviewed on local television program. Looked very interesting! The Phoenix area has so many chain restaurants that we've (my hubby and I and another couple) are always looking for the unique "one of a kind." We found it in this restaurant offering Bosnian and Herzegovian dishes!! We tried the beef patty, the spinach/cheese pita, and gyro. All... More

Bosnian is probably among the last national cuisines I would have chosen, but we're very happy we saw the restaurant mentioned on TV and especially happy with the experience. There are several options including salads, soups and chicken, but during our visit every single diner seemed to have ordered the Bosnian sausage sandwich. It includes 5,10 or 15 small sausages... My family has been to this restaurant a couple of times now and we have enjoyed every meal we ordered. The restaurant is quaint and welcoming, and the food is very tasty. We tried the steak sandwich, meat pita, spinach pita, cheese pita, and gyro. While there was no children's menu, my kids all loved the food. We can't wait... More

My sister lives in Phoenix and had seen the TV review of the restaurant. We were planning a small family reunion and my niece from Iowa and myself from LA googled the reviews and were really excited about trying something new and different! We each got the pita appetizer; one cheese, one spinach and one beef. The pastry was to... More

A great surprise in my neighborhood! I have seen this place for years and because of its location decided not to try it despite the fact it had good ratings. But that changed last week. What a find! Great Bosnian food and nice atmosphere inside. They were not quite prepared for more than normal customers on a Sunday night. There... More

My heritage is Hungarian but we saw this Bosnian restaurant featrued on a local TV show. I traveled in the area. The food is NOT fancy. It is not a "date" dinner place. It is authentic even down to the local Bosnian beer. We really enjoyed the food and it quality. We had two different sausage sandwiches and a spinach... More

On Saturday November 29th, 2014, we treated two Croatian couples and one Italian from Ontario Canada to a traditonal Bosnian Family Style Dinner personally prepared for us by Sejda- the owner of the Sarajevo Cafe. Dinner was fabulous. Soups, salads, special bread and main entre were fresh and well prepared for our enjoyment. Presentation consisting of Cevapcice, pljeskavica and variety of... More

Took my 3 young kids and husband for lunch and they all loved it here. The owner was super friendly and kids want to go back! Pita was wonderful - thin jufka dough with a generous filling of cheese (sirnica) and meat(burek) and with spinach (zeljanica) Cevapi were delicious, on a wonderful home made lepinja. Will be back when in... More

Cafe Sarajevo serves wonderingly tasting Bosnian food. Try their sausage sandwichs or their gyros but leave room for the desserts and Bosnian coffee. The staff is friendly and they even taught my wife how to make their Bosnian-style coffee.

I am not Bosnian, but I have spent some time traveling around Yugoslavia. This summer I got hooked on Cevapi and Burek. I have to say that finding traditional Bosnian food is not easy. Whenever I am in Phoenix, I will be sure to go here. I thought the food was even better than the famous restaurant in Sarajevo owned... More
