I had to go to Phoenix for a doctor's appointment. I always stay with my brother who eats out almost every day. He offered to treat so I chose the Golden Greek. We both had the combination platter. The food tasted fresh and was delicious. This is a bit of a drive from where we live but is always worth... More

My family (my wife, 2 teenagers and I) came here on a Sunday evening for dinner - a "uPromise Dining" find we wanted to try. This is a long-established, family-owned/run place in a strip mall in a transitional north Phoenix neighborhood. The decor is old and minimal and the service is efficient but far from friendly to first-timers. But the... More

I don't want everyone crowding into this place as we want to keep it to ourselves. But to be fair, this is one of the best restaurants in Phoenix. The food is simply wonderful. Like you've died and gone to heaven. I dream about this food and wish I could have it more often. My favorite dish is the veal.... More

Went here with my wife and mother-in-law on a recent trip. One needs to keep things in perspective! This is a family run old style restaurant. Sure the decor may leave a little to be desired and the service may not be fantastic, but the food you get for the price more than makes up for it. The next time... More

I'm surprised there are people on here, who think they're treated rudely and abruptly at the Golden Greek. What makes you think you're so special?! EVERYONE here is treated that way! Food at the Golden Greek is something akin to what hospital patients in Athens would eat. While some of the food is really good (like the kebabs), some of... More

The Golden Greek is a small restaurant hiding in a strip center. They serve great Greek food at an almost unbelievably low price. If you go there for the first time, try their Greek Sampler plate, it will give you a taste of several Greek favorites. In addition to Greek items, several Italian ones are also offered. You need to... More

This is an unusual restaurant. Excellent food, minimal decor, indifferent service at first. As you come in more often, you appreciate its charms. I highly recommend the lentil soup, Greek salad and pasta el greco. The soup is the best I've had.... Anywhere. And I've had a lot of it. Try excellent and unassuming Greek food.

Their food is consistently good and they keep their prices amazingly low. I love the sampler plates and soup and salad. Their pita is small and round and fresh. Get the Calamari if it is available, you won't have it better. Leg of lamb is a favorite special. They have a well earned month's vacation in the summer and are... More

I ate at this place for many years. I simply LOVE IT. It is a family owned and operated. The atmosphere is really casual; it makes you feel like you are in a dive in Greece

This is real Greek food. If you are used to a Greek food chain this may throw you. The food is as authentic as it comes. From the home made pita bread to the baclava the meal is plentiful and delicious. Sure, the atmosphere is not like all the big chains but this is what gives it character. Our hosts... More
