Good food at a good price.

We love Greek food, and this is home-style Greek in a good way. The Italian offerings are worthwhile, but the traditional Greek items are the best choices. This is definitely not the place to take your valentine. the atmosphere is not much. I had the combo plate that was nothing to write home about. My friends had a Pasta with shrimp that looked good and the portions were large. If your expectation is decent inexpensive food and not a culinary experience this is the place.

This place is amazing! Just happened to find this place while we were in search of another greek restaurant that was (FORTUNATELY) closed on Sundays. Their homemade pita bread is delicious!

If you want a wonderful lunch or dinner, set your GPS to here. Besides traditional Greek dishes, some Italian items are also on the menu i.e. ravioli, spaghetti and lasagna. Whatever "nationality" you order, you won't go wrong! I love the chicken marsala--have never had a better version anywhere. If you have room for dessert, the rice pudding is tops,... More

I was introduced to gyros in 1985 while serving in the Army. During my travels all over the world, I would always seek out a place that had gyros. In my opinion, this is the best that I've found so far. They use a homemade bread, instead of a traditional pita, which again in my opinion, exceeds regular pita in... More

Whenever you go into a place and see a bunch or firefighters or police you can normally bet on the food being good. Add to that a bunch of returning locals and you are pretty much set - the Golden Greek was no different. Good amount of meat on the kabab - sorry, gyro!!. Good Greek salad to begin and... More

I had to go to Phoenix for a doctor's appointment. I always stay with my brother who eats out almost every day. He offered to treat so I chose the Golden Greek. We both had the combination platter. The food tasted fresh and was delicious. This is a bit of a drive from where we live but is always worth... More

My family (my wife, 2 teenagers and I) came here on a Sunday evening for dinner - a "uPromise Dining" find we wanted to try. This is a long-established, family-owned/run place in a strip mall in a transitional north Phoenix neighborhood. The decor is old and minimal and the service is efficient but far from friendly to first-timers. But the... More

I don't want everyone crowding into this place as we want to keep it to ourselves. But to be fair, this is one of the best restaurants in Phoenix. The food is simply wonderful. Like you've died and gone to heaven. I dream about this food and wish I could have it more often. My favorite dish is the veal.... More

Went here with my wife and mother-in-law on a recent trip. One needs to keep things in perspective! This is a family run old style restaurant. Sure the decor may leave a little to be desired and the service may not be fantastic, but the food you get for the price more than makes up for it. The next time... More
