Don't give up the search, it's worth it!

This is indeed a hideaway; we almost missed it, tucked into a small strip of shops, but we followed the sound of people having a good time and the smell of delicious food, to get a great meal. This place has replaced my original #1 new mexican resturaunt - they have the best and most flavorful CARNE ADOVADA!!!! Great on the brunch menu and lunch/dinner. Everything tried (most dishes) has been delicious and abundant (think leftovers for breakfast!). Go Here!

Hard to find but worth the search. Great food, small place, noisy, good bar. Chef try's and succeeds with fun dishes.

Hideaway is right. i have walked past this gem many times heading for Lucy's just a couple of doors further in this strip mall area. Unless You are told this is a bar/restaurant, You would never know. It is a true hideaway as there isn't even a sign to indicate what lies behind the door. It is so small, one... More

If you like Richardson's (local entrepreneur) New Mexico style food served in a unique atmosphere - - this is a wonderful spot. Located in an area with a lot of local restaurants, Dicks Hideaway is the most unique spot - - a small store front that is more bar than restaurant. The night we were there (on a Thursday) the... This was hands-down the best meal we had in Phoenix! No signage out front, so make sure you know the exact address or you may not find it. Food was fantastic! Spicy mexican- influenced food with excellent flavors. Highly recommended the dip with spinach, cheese, chorizo to start off. Good selection of wines and beers on tap. Great atmosphere. We... More

I read some of the reviews so we took a chance Sunday evening to stop in and check it out. I'm glad we did! The food was great and the service better. Unless you look closely at the door, you would never even know it was there. It was a nice evening and so the doors were blocked open. Thank... More

WOW! The food here is sublime, the service friendly and attentive, the wine list fantastic including the select 1/2 price bottles on Sunday and Monday. Ate here 2x on a recent long weekend in Phoenix and everything was consistently delicious. Wish we could transport this place home to NYC, where quality tex-mex is lacking!
