Good food with flavor

We flew into Phoenix late and wanted a decent place to eat, "hideaway" is an understatement. Once we found it we had a great meal, I like food with spice and flavor, not for the bland food eater. Check out there asada plate

Maybe it's because if you Don't know where you are going... You Don't know where you are going.. Buried in a strip mall at 16th St. and Bethany through an unmarked door. Maybe it took others so long to find it they didn't mind the cramped seating and ghastly prices because they were so hungry? Call me cheap. I think... More

The food here will change your life!! I can't say enough good things about this place! To begin with, there is no sign outside indicating that it is, indeed, Dick's Hideaway. You just have to know where it is! The place is really small and they cook the food in front of you! The Mexican Surf and Turf is beyond... More

Found this recommendation on Tripadvisor and PHX's New Times magazine. We decided to go there for breakfast. GPS got us to the parking lot. The search for Dick's began from there. It truly is a hideaway. We walked along the strip mall right past the unlabeled door - sign above it said "additional parking in rear". I went back and... More

Looks can be deceiving. What at first looks like a hole in the wall- No visible signage turned out to be a hidden treasure. Excellent menu selection and service.

I was looking for a good breakfast place that served food with a Southwestern tilt and ended up coming back for several other meals during a short stay for a conference at the Biltmore. Really interesting food, served on surface-of-the-sun hot metal plates in very generous portions. Clearly a local favorite with a loyal following (sorry to spoil your secret... More

It's nestled between two other businesses, so it was kind of hard to find. We called and got specific directions, and we're very glad that we took the extra time. The Mexican food was incredible. Great ambience, service, and the food was excellent.

I have friends that think this place is the best restaurant in Phoenix, so my expectations might have been a little high. We wend for brunch. The food was decent, but not great. Did not really care for the tight seating arrangement and dusty leaking wine bottles all over the wall. The bar did have a cool vibe though. I... More

One of the coolest New Mexican restaurants in the Phx area. Hanging in the bar and grabbing a slider and washing it down with a perfectly balanced margarita was worth the 450 mile trip. The atmosphere is relaxing with a hint of smoke from the grille. The food was nicely spiced and fresh. A most stop when you are in... More

OK - this place is cool & DELISH! But it's called Dick's hideaway for a reason... I do not think there's even a sign, it's tucked in a strip mall - very nondescript.... But YUMMY! We just had appetizers for a late lunch - blackened scallops, smoky ribs & Queso dip w/chorizo. Cute & casual setting.
