My wife and I had a chance to visit the restaurant again since our last visit, and while the appearances to the restaurant is maybe not the most tantalizing, the food is. My wife had the buffet while I ordered the Chicken Tikki, and ask they make it spicy. The buffet had good options given what was available from my... More

We found it because we were at Trader Joe's The buffet was OK - the Naan was hot and good and plentiful - the curries were pedestrian though At least there was dessert [rice pudding: reasonable] The milky tea had a hint of spice but needed more flavor

We went to the lunch buffet and there were a lot of different dishes - vegetable and meat - seemed like more selection than most Indian buffets we've gone to. Everything was very good. There were two different paneer dishes (the white cheese squares), and chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, a ground lamb dish, cauliflower and potatoes dish, two different... More

We took out food from here on a recent visit. We did not eat dinner out due to a new baby. All dishes were tasty and well prepared. The breads were excellent. Tandori, beriani and tikka masala dishes were excellent. Our only complaint was that we should have requested the spices to be a little hotter.

Star of India by far has the best Punjabi food in the Phoenix metro area. Preet's Shahi Paneer is to die for!

My wife and I had been talking about going to this restaurant for a while and decided to go early as we normally have our dinners around 3pm or so and they are closed between their lunch and dinner service. My better half decided to try the buffet they offered because she did not know what she would or would... More

Unlike most restaurants, Star of India has been open on Thanksgiving (in recent years at least) for those of us who are not turkey eaters. The food has always been excellent, I like the convenient location and decor, and you certainly don't have to wait for a table on Thanksgiving. But if you are expecting friendly service with a smile... More

I was never a fan of Indian food until I ate here. The garlic naan, chicken korma, keema mater, tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala are fabulous. The only downside is that Indian food (including the vegan/vegetarian options) are rich and heavy because of all the cream as well as butter used, not to mention the lamb. I would eat... More

Visited this Indian restaurant on our recent trip to Phoenix. We had to wait for about 5 minutes, at 9 pm to get a seat and it took eons for them to take our order, as they were more happy patronizing the local frequent visitors than someone new. And finally after the ordering we had to wait indefinitely to be... More
