My wife and I stopped here on our way to the Nutcracker at Phoenix Symphony hall. It was conveniently located on one of the Phoenix Light Rail stops. We sat at the bar as we did not have a lot of time and had a merlot. It was happy hour and the wines were $2 off normal menu price, which... More

On Phoenix (AZ) first Friday we found Portlands about 8:30 PM, located at Central and Portland. The win bar was packed, but we were hungry so opted for dinner. Within 5 minuets we were seated at a great floor to ceiling window table. Dillon was our server. We ordered the Eggplant Nepoleon, with calamari for an appatiser and a house... More

I went to this restaurant tonight with some family. We walk in and no one who worked there acknowledged us for about 5-10 minutes. Mind you, it was not too busy, few people at the bar and a larger party in the dining room. I went up to the bartender and asked if there was someone to seat us or... More

Great location, on the light rail route. Nice atmosphere, especially during the times of year when it's nice to eat outside. I had the pork chops, which I *never* order, but they were recommended by a friend and they were very good. They feature local art. Good place overall. More

I chose Portland's based on a couple of reviews, a menu offering good choices (for someone with a gluten intolerance), the fact they use local organic vendors and it was a relaxed neighborhood place. The service was outstanding and the food amazing. We started with the scallops with poleta - delicately delicious. My husband had the Cowboy pork chop and... More

I was looking for a restaurant for dinner prior to the ballet and found this gem. It's a lovely, polished but casual restaurant with fantastic food. I had a prawn-butternut squash-risotto entree that was heaven. The squash sauce was silky and tasty. My companion had a sausage and pasta dish made with local sausage. It was extremely tasty. Although Portand's... More

We have frequented Portland's many times and prefer to eat at the bar. Restaurant is nice too, but the bartenders are friendly and frequently a diamondbacks or suns game is available. The wine list is always fresh and new and some entrees change with the seasons. Other traditional favorites - like the ostrich and lasagne - are always available. For... More
