My go-to lunch place in Phoenix

This place may be a hole in the wall, but it's so SO good! Black beans are a must. Jerk fried rice is spicy and tasty. Try a combo with two types of meats. Put one into a quesadilla for no extra charge! Do not arrive at noon on Friday, the line will be out the door.

This is definitely a place to try if you are in North Phoenix. The service is fast and the food is excellent. Very informal place, the atmosphere is nothing special, very basic almost third world indoor seating layout. You order at the counter and then take your food to the table you choose - or you can get it for... More

Upon my first visit, I had the chance to sample their cuisine before ordering. If you are not sure, make sure to sample granted there is not a line. This fusion of cuisines warrants a visit to the restaurant. Hence, me becoming a regular as much as I can! I can see why this restaurant was featured on Food Network.

They give you samples, you make your selection as a "bowl" or "plate" and then sit down and they'll bring it to you. Beer available--kind of a "dive" but the Chinese-Mexican mix is addictive. And not too expensive!

Great combination of Mexican and Chinese food. I hadn't been here in 6 years but food was still great. Many choices and combinations. Must go for foodies.

Amazing combination of flavors. You order at the counter and jockey for a table in the dining room. This is a shorts and sandals stop. Family friendly. No posturing here just good eats. The decor is purposefully a mishmash of chairs and tables, not for the persnickety or OCD bunch.

First time at Chino Bandito. Arrived at 5:30 on a Thursday evening and only 12 diners. Hmm. I ordered Pollo Diablo, Jen Red Pork, Black Beans and Jerk Fried Rice. All items were presented in bite-sized portions. They were fresh but lacked a lot of pizazz that I'd been hearing about. The pollo Diablo was supposed to be the hottest... More

Great mix of Mexican and Chinese and Caribbean. We wanted to try everything. We loved the smooth blended black beans and refried pinto beans. The chicken fried Chile relleno was also great. But I loved the Emerald Chicken the Best. We even got soft snickerdoodle cookies with our meal, all super fast and at a great price. Totally worth the... More

I've been going to this place since I saw they were on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives on the food network. I love the different types of mix matching of food you can get here. It's not for everyone but if you are looking for a mixture of Jamaican, Mexican and Asian, this place will satisfy all of those flavors.
