We first stopped into Gertrude’s for a glass of wine at the bar prior to an event at DBG. Loved the bartender, very engaging and a pleasure to talk to. From the corner of the bar where we sat we had a good view into a section of the kitchen, which added an additional activity to watch. There is an... More

A gem within the Desert Botanical garden which is a much see every season. When the cactus are in bloom (summer) and the Spring flowers. Just did the Luminaries which is the only time to do the gardens at night. Fabulous and they had numerous venues for music and drink. Very fun evening out with friends over the Holidays. Best... Set at the Phoenix Botanical Garden is this gem where you should eat outdoor if the weather permits. A splashing fountain in the middle where the birds drink and splash and butterflies and other desert critters add to the charm. I loved their BLT with fried tomatoes, but really it is the surroundings that make this a must try place.

We went to the Desert Botanical garden for the annual Los Noches de Los Luminairas display and were pleasantly surprised to experience Gertrude's on the premises. We just stopped in for a drink, but spoke with quite a few people wating fr tables and at the bar who told us how wonderful the food is. It certainly looked it as... More

As we both love breakfast for any meal, we had a late brunch at Gertrude's. The food was delicious, bacon perfectly crisp and toast a hearty multigrain. The taste of the Prickly Pear Jelly added a very local touch.

Joann, I too am a breakfast lover! Delighted you enjoyed your brunch and the prickly pear jelly. We love harvesting the prickly pear cactus fruit straight from The Garden and using it in our dishes. Thank you for taking the time to share this and we hope to see you again soon. Happy Holidays, Chantal More

We spent the morning touring the wonderful Garden and decided to have lunch on the premises. The weather was great and we sat outside with hummingbirds visiting the flowers next to our table. Excellent food and Scott, the server was careful and attentive.

Even in October, Phoenix was hot! Walking around the giant Cacti in the Botanical Garden was fun but tiring. We were delighted to find Gertrude's as we exited. At 5 PM the place was fairly empty. Outside seating was refreshing in the shade. Our waitress (Bri?) was a sweetheart! We took her recommendation and ordered the squash/cauliflower dish. It was... More

Gertrude's is a great setting at the Pheonix Botanical Garden, however the brunch menu is extremely limited and the wait is extremely long for food delivery. Waitstaff had no explanation and did not care to offer one. Unfortunately when the food did arrive it was cold.
