A Magical Place in Downtown Phoenix

Walked in and a very eclectic decor with a great selection of food. The room was filled with a variety of furnishing but tastefully put together for a unique experience. I can't tell if the sandwiches here are so great because of the freshly baked/toasted bread or because of the interesting mixture oh high-quality ingredients. At any rate, the resulting sandwich is a masterpiece. To add to the experience, the servers are very efficient and friendly, and the restaurant projects a casual/comfortable vibe.

You can eat in or get food to go. I've only gotten food to go but you can see into the eat-in portion of the restaurant and it's quaint with an intriguing, kind of rustic decor. (I like it!) The house made mozarella sandwich is my favorite! It is very fresh and though I personally think it's 2 servings worth... More

Staff here think they can do whatever they want. Went in for lunch was told they were not serving food or drinks only bottled. And greeted by a rude hostess telling me to use their other door for some reason in a rude way felt very uncomfortable so we left.

The fresh ingredients, most imaginative but simple preparations of local produce, by master chef Marco, who seems to be always on site. Impeccable, courteous service. This is a cafe, not a formal large restaurant, in the older area of Phoenix on central, not far from the excellent Phoenix art museum.

First, the space is really charming. A little funky, but I loved it. The people working were wonderful ... we talked about where they were from (it seems nobody is "from" Phoenix!), the restaurant and how it got started, the artwork, etc. Just so nice. Not a huge menu but what we had was really fresh, delicious AND reasonably priced.... More

I would actually give this place 3.5 stars just because the food was very fresh and tasty but the menu was incredibly limited for lunch and after all the hype I'd heard about it, I was a bit let down. Glad I ate there, not sure I have a reason to return.

I'll start by saying the food was delicious. We had visited the coffee shop next door the day before and were told this restaurant was great. Interesting type of seating - very large tables with 4-8 seats at each. "It isn't uncommon to share, so sit wherever" is what we were told when we arrived. The service was fine and... More

Great authentic Italian food and personal service. Loved it! Relaxed, not stuffy. If you ate staying in the downtown Phoenix area I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Best pizza in Phoenix. Interesting combination of flavors....perfectly prepared. Strong service. Big hipster vibe here. Felt like we were in Portland.
