I have always enjoyed this restaurant ... it has been around a very long time. When in this area, my husband and I stop in for a great meal. My only complaint ... They are always running out of wheat bread. Today, I ordered two sandwiches on wheat .... No wheat bread. I settled for white, but... read more

Been going to Uncle Sams since my early 20s. A LOOOOONGGGG time ago. But hoagies are rock solid. Love the all american and the cheese steak with sweet / hot peppers. Pizza sauce too sweet for my liking. but my 10 year old loves it. FRIES ARE THE BOMB!! but dont get them to go. Best fresh dining in.

Stopped here with friends for lunch. Our server was prompt and courteous. My wife ordered a small pizza of the supreme variety, which she enjoyed. I ordered the special steak and cheese sandwich which was a little different than a typical Philly cheese steak, in that the steak was ground into small pieces, but was good. The restaurant is dark... More

I normally come into this place for a grinder or cheesesteak but it was great to just pop in for a salad and a glass of chianti without the fam. Informal atmosphere, good menu, good family friendly, good comfort food....

Uncle Sam's is still my favorite bar food spot in Phoenix. The menu is huge, but I head toward the calzones (crusty and chewy, made fresh to order), cheese steak sandwiches (half sandwich is plenty for one meal), and honey hot wings. This is a good place to feed a lot of people, especially kids and sports fans. Expect to... More

Wonderful, very casual, sports bar. Service was above average, and I would have only given 4 stars for it, except our server comped one of our beers, without us asking, because we had "just missed happy hour." So... 5 stars for service. LARGE portions for a good price. Mushroom cheese steak was very flavorful and tender, and white pizza was... More

We still frequent the place. Atmosphere is welcoming for a pizza/sandwich place. Pizza is always good though we have been sometimes disappointed with the sandwiches. Decent drink selection. Their "bailout plan" is a good alternative if you'd like smaller versions of their sandwiches....

I was taking here by some locals who rave about the sandwiches. This place has been here for years. The food did not arrive fast but was well worth the small wait. Had a cheese steak sandwich with mushrooms, peppers and onions with great onions rings!! Everything looked good at our table of 6.

We have eaten at Uncle Sam's since the place first opened at the former Pizza Inn location on Shea Blvd just east of 32nd Street. About a month ago, we invited some family to meet us there for dinner but they declined and said the last time they ate there, the meal just didn't agree with them. Last night, we... More

I have been going to Uncle Sam's since before the start of the 21st century. I always loved the food and there were multiple sandwiches I would rotate between. During my 20's I would often order take-out multiple times a week. Every person I took to Uncle Sam's loved it. Management and staff were friendly and turnover was low. I... More
