Old school steak house

This old fashioned Phoenix landmark was recommended by the hotel concierge at the Westin. I was entertaining several business colleagues and wanted something special. We started with calamari....very good. Moved on to salads. But the best was the steaks. Prime rib was fantastic!

This steak house was FABULOUS! The food was outstanding from the wine to the yummy house bread to the exquisite Caesar salad with anchovies to my prime rib and my partners filet mignon/snow crab. Even the trio crime brûlée was fantastic. All fresh and uncomplicated great tasting food! Our waiter Lonnie was fun, conversational, and just perfect. The bartender even... More

This place is a true gem. Great food, service and atmosphere. When you arrive you have to park in the rear and enter the building by walking through the kitchen! Once inside the main seating area, you feel like you have been transformed back to a high end steakhouse in 1970. The decor, fixtures and bar look like they could... More

I love Durants. The steaks are always excellent! The atmosphere is really cool and a nice throwback to old school steakhouses. You actually enter the place right through the kitchen which is pretty neat and cool to see. Aside from the steaks, the bloody Mary's with Jumbo shrimp are amazing, the bread they serve before meal with garlic olive oil... More

I took a friend there for an intimate dinner and specifically requested a table where we could talk, and maybe shed a few tears as this was following the death of his friend. Maître d James arranged the perfect spot for us and a wonderfully considerate waiter who was attentive and sensitive to our grief. I also asked for a... More

Four of us met for lunch at Durant's today. Service was spotty. The food was, at best, mediocre, although the prices were inflated and, to my estimation, exorbitant, especially in light of the poor quality of the food. I had eaten dinner at Durant's perhaps 25 years ago and on that occasion, I found the food, the service and the... More

Durrant's steakhouse located in downtown Phoenix Arizona, is as much of a landmark in Arizona as the Grand Canyon. classy and pricey, it serves the finest cuts of beef available, lamb, fish, lobster, and even chicken. It has a terrific cocktail lounge as well as a very nice dining area. While you will see lame folks in short pants and... More

Simple-my rib eye was incredible. A great mouth watering steak. Old school steakhouse atmosphere. Staff wearing jackets and bowties, leather booths, etc. Bartenders make honest drinks. Absolute great stop for a steak after a day of spring training baseball. Very walkable 2 blocks from our stay at the Hilton Suites. The prices are $$$ but if your steak is anything... More

Our food was just wonderful. We had tenderloin, T-bone & New York strip. We were seated immediately and the buss service was wonderful. Our waiter was courteous and attentive, could have used more personality. I was a little disappointed in the cost of the steaks, tenderloin-$32.00, T-bone-$44.00. Cramped seating and noisy.
