Sure, there are more expensive and exclusive restaurants in the Phoenix area.....BUT, Texaz is consistent with fine food at reasonable prices. The waitresses have been there forever and are extremely pleasant. Their home made fried potatoes are to die for. Just a hometown place with TERRIFIC food! GREAT lunches as well!

Our party of 3 first timers came because of the reviews... Portion sizes were generous, service friendly, the catfish was undercooked and removed from the bill, the hamburger was very average, not much flavor, poorly dressed. The potato wedges were odd sized fried chunks like a breakfast potato. Lot of food for the price, but not wonderfully edible. Parking is... More

Every once in a while I get homesick for my Texas hometown. Thankfully, I can drive across town to the TEXAZ Grill. They used to be the only place in Arizona to get Blue Bell and Shiner, and even though that's not the case anymore, they still have the best chicken fried steak outside the Lone Star State. For a... What a surprise as might not look like much on the outside but wow. Great comfort food (like what Mom makes), great service, and great decor (feels like somewhere on Route 66). Must do when you are needing some great food to feel like a bit of home!

While visiting Phoenix during a Grand Canyon vacation we wanted to try a local steakhouse. We went to Texaz Grill based largely on reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. The place is sort of small, I think the seating max is around 140, and the décor is eccentric to say the least, but who cares. We were there for... More

Large servings which feature lots of gravy. The taste is OK, but too much of a good thing is still too much. Nobody could eat here regularly without becoming hugely obese.

This is it. The one and only. They were Lonestar before the corporate funded, line dancing shlockfest came to town and stole the name, but TEXAZ is the real deal here in town, still. Nothing else really compares. Quality meats, perfectly prepared, there's great sides, and healthy portions too. The inside's like a Terlingua roadhouse, w/ license plates and stuffed... More

Dined here Sept 2014. Our family that lives in Phoenix brought us there and told us every thing on the menu was good. They were right! The portions were very generous and the food delicious! I would dine there again in a heartbeat. I can personally recommend the brisket sandwich with mashed potatoes and country gravy. I couldn't finish it... More

went her on a hunch, was looking for a good place to eat steak. Walking in I felt like I was transmogrified to the old west. Everyone was nice, spoke with a nice Texan accent. Food was delicious, steak made as I ordered it and was a handful, big portions. Try this place if you're looking for authentic Texas food... More
