I have eaten at both locations a number of times. The Camelback location is permanently closed from what I hear. I asked my family to take me the cafe for Father's Day, wanting for a good Paella.I knew not to expect anything like I used to get in Key West or Newark, NJ,I wasn't gonna be critical. But, it was... The Havana Cafe offers a broad menu of Latin and Caribbean dishes on its menu. The atmosphere is laid back and casual. The service staff was attentive and offered great recommendations from the menu. The Seviche was wonderful. If you have the time, the Paella de Havana for two is well worth the time it takes to prepare. Save room... More

Back for a second time and really enjoyed it.....however, I have to admit that the Sailors Paella was a bit of a disappointment ....it was dry and the shrimp were so small and tasteless....will not order that again....the fish that a friend ordered was good as was the crispy chicken dish..... all in all would go back but not for... A lovely little place to enjoy dinner with friends, good food, good service without the hassles. When in Phoenix stop by for some great Cuban food , you will be glad you did.

I found the Havana Cafe in Fodors and it was close to my hotel, so we gave it a try. I did not want to go to a chain restaurant, and found this to be a unique spot with dishes I had never tasted before. We decided that when we go back there we will just have the small plates... More

I'm here on business and wanted to see if Phoenix had any good mojitos. I always head to a Cuban restaurant when seeking an authenitc mojito. Having lived in NY and eaten in just about every Cuban joint in NYC, I know a good mojito. This place made a decent one, but not outstanding. It was a little overly sweet,... More

Having tasted some of the best Cuban foods in NJ and Key West, I have a good baseline to compare Havana Cafe. The food and service were very good, very friendly servers and fairly quick service of food. The food was fresh and full of flavor. I had the meat empinadas and fried black bean as an appitizer, which came... More

We have been to Havana Cafe on several occasions. The food and service is good. Can't give them a top rating because of the high prices. Picadillo was $14.95 which consists of rice, beans, ground beef, potatoes, olive, etc. Good food but should be less than $10. By the time we (2 of us) got our food, two appetizers, two... More

If I was rating just the fish dishes, they would have gotten a very good rating. Unfortunately they fall down with regards to anything that is fired of is a dish featuring chicken. The empanitas and calamari are over fried to make them difficult to chew. The chicken is so very overdone, that it can't be cut. It would have... More

We love good Cuban food and I have actually been to Cuba. This cafe (the one located at Bell) was very disappointing. It was too expensive for the quality. We will not be going to either location again nor would we recommend it to friends.
