I thoroughly enjoyed lunch at the Canyon Café during a recent business trip to Phoenix. The chips and salsa are amazing (I wish had some now!). The service was great, very pleasant atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a complimentary chocolate tamale for dessert following the amazing tortilla soup and shrimp tacos. I will definitely visit again!

My colleagues (group of 6) ate at this restaurant while in town for a conference. Service was amazingly attentive, given that they were fairly busy, and had lots of larger groups. Food was overall quite good, and salsa was great. Good value for a conference center area restaurant. Would go there again, no question. Overlooks lovely mini-park with water features,... More

We have been going to Sam's for many years and the last two times we've been there the service has been poor to non existent. This time, they seated us, brought chips and no water and then, nothing else. My husband finally went inside to see if he could get some help for us... at least some water! A manager... More

We walked in hungry, with time to enjoy a good meal before walking over to the Herberger for a live play. Seated immediately, given a great chip & salsa assortment (with wontons!), and a nice atmosphere outdoors. When the food was served, it was both a treat and filing. Well worth the money. D&M

A wonderful night. Best Salsa and chips in the world. I've tried it at over 1000 places and this tops them all. Try the stuffed chicken; unbelievable great. This place really rocks. Service also was fantastic. I have nothing but praise for the Canyon. All other restuarants should use this place as the benchmark. Don't miss the white chocolate w... More

We were in town to visit a relative in the hospital in PHX. After many days of dining on hospital cafeteria food we were looking for a nice little place to enjoy the evening, get away from our troubles and enjoy a decent meal. Canyon Cafe fit the bill perfectly for us. The evening weather was perfect for sitting outside... More

I came here with my family during our stay in Phoenix and I immediately liked the place. The interiors were large and spacious with some mexican style in it. After we sat at our table the waitress immediately served us a wide choice of their homemade nachos with a spicy dip. A great start. For the main course I took... More

Now it is just a bomb....I'm sorry to report. The service is substandard. The food could have a lot better quality control to it. We were served chips that were obviously bottom of the barrel. They were broken and stale. Not sure about the salsa as I've had much better. Overall, they need to step up their game. Don't order... More

I already loved the food at Canyon Cafe (Sam's) - love the amazing chips and table side guac; and of course the limit 2 margaritas. But I absolutely LOVE the new updates to the decor inside and out! Love this great patio! Wish I lived closer so I could go more often. I tell everyone I know that is going... More

My first time here, had their margarita special which was delicious and not too sweet...but you can only have one? the other option margaritas were a little too sweet for me. The nacho chips they give you are out of this world, never tasted anything like it! I ordered the Bison meatloaf and my husband had the Ahi Tuna, it... More
