Food is great. Neighborhood and building Sketchy

The food is really good, it is a window order, then go find your seat and wait for your number to be called type of place. The building is super old in a super old part of town and the neighborhood is fairly sketchy, but the food is worth a stop.

I heard so much about this place and thought I was about to have the experience of a lifetime. I had cheese enchiladas and took home a dozen tortillas. I wasn't impressed by either. The enchiladas were bland, the sauce tasted like a weak mole, and the cheese looked like store bought shredded cheddar (it wasn't even melted all the... More

Excellent food. Really authentic. We just left the airport on our way to Sedona and were starving . We Google a Mexican restaurant and Carolina's was our choice. Don't judge the restaurant by where is located. Yes, the area seems a little shady, but this is just an industrial blue collar neighborhood. We were there around noon time and it... More

We stopped in for breakfast burritos before work. We had the chorizo burritos machaca tacos, they were awesome, best tortillas I've ever had. The place isn't pretty but the food is very good! I will be stopping by every time I'm in town.

Awesome tamales, and machaca tacos...chicken tacos were rather bland. The butter tortillas though...absolutely amazing! The building though...uhhhhh.... hmmmmm...not sure it should still be standing.

If you can get past the run down, dirty building, and limited Menu, the food is AMAZING. I had a chimi and it was probably the best I ever had. I almost gave this 5 stars, but it's not perfect because it's not cozy. It's delicious though! I will go many more times

On our family vacation to Arizona we stopped by Carolina's on the way to Flagstaff. The rental car agent suggested this place and we weren't disappointed. Bare bones exterior and interior but the food was the real deal. The Chile Relleno was excellent and flavorful. My kids said this was the best food our entire vacation. Definitely worth stopping in.

I had heard that this place was a Phoenix fixture and worth the trip. I was nearby and decided to get lunch. Parking area was packed and the building is very plain. Inside the restaurant it was very plain, tables were full and people waiting in line to order. I ordered a green chili burrito, it was delicious. I highly... More

The best Mexican food I've eaten has always been in places that look like dives. This is one of the best of that ilk. Amazing food, nice selection, really good salsa. I highly recommend it!

Great mexican food. As an American of Mexican descent, I got to say that this place is pretty darn good. Just wish they made caldo de res! But their machaca was dead on great as well as their tacos and bean and cheese burrito! Going again mañana before heading back to El Paso, TX
