Amazed at some the reviews from ex Pats (British) who should know better. Live fairly close, so gave it another try (yet again into the breach) Fish was okay but fries (chips) were so old and limp, They need to change their oil much more often, as other "Stuff" had been cooked in the same oil, you could taste it.... This place is my family's favorite place in Phoenix. We have gone for breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks at the bar when my husband and I are out and about, and have gotten both frozen and cooked take out. We have never had a bad experience. The service is always friendly and the food always good. The best value is the... More

Went with some British expats who swear by the place and I was not disappointed. Crisp, flavourful and plentiful it was an amazing lunch. The fare wasn't greasy and I must admit is among the best I've had. The malt vinegar and mushy peas topped it off and put it over the edge. Only reason it's not a five is... More

Last night I was in the mood for seafood. I even thought about going to the store, buying some fresh fish, and making it at home. Then someone suggested to try The Codfather. It's not far from where we live, and was open late. So we did. The reviews online are mixed... But it was worth giving it a shot.... More

Food is terrible. $7.50 for a glass of IPA beer is ridiculous! I am really surprised this business is still open. Will never return.

Indisputably the best English food, especially the fish in chips, in the state if not the southwest. The owners are from the UK where they used to have a place and came here for the sun. 16th st. And bell rd is not a convenient location, but worth the drive. I can't say enough about these folks

My partner is from Scotland and was transported home through the authentic fare at the Codfather. We had sausage rolls for appetizer, fish and chips (cod and haddock) for our entree and a banana fritter to share for dessert. She also purchased some crisps, an Irn Bru and some sweets. Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere made our meal here... More

If you are looking for the ambience of an English pub, you won’t find it here. If you are looking for authentic English pub food, you WILL find it at Codfather’s! (We’ve traveled to the UK many times and enjoyed traditional pub food a lot. I don’t consider myself an authority, but I do feel comfortable making the claim that... More

I've driven past this place several times and wondered about it, but one night recently, the boyfriend and I couldn't find a place to eat that wasn't deafening inside, and The Codfather popped into my head. So I asked him if he'd like fish and chips and/or to try a new place and off we went. We pulled up and... More
