District is in the Sheraton in downtown Phoenix, near the Conversation Center. We had an enjoyable meal here with excellent service, and 2 very nice Arizona wines. My vegetarian-inspired husband had no problem finding a delicious entree, and my duck was delicious. Again, the menu is not huge, but has great variety. Prices are reasonable, and they have a kitchen... More

I have walked by this place so many times headed towards the Arizona Center. I never stopped because it looked so upscale, I thought it would be really expensive. But I was wrong. Location: District is located on the northwest corner of 3rd Street and Van Buren in Phoenix. This is across the street from Arizona Center. By the way,... More

We frequently lunch at District, perhaps about two times a week. The main draw is the value, everything on their lunch menu is $9. You really can't beat that. There is a diversity of items to choose from, though I usually order the Steak Frites. The steak is good size for lunch, I'd say about 6-7oz and the fries are... More

I had the sea bass and calamari. Service was top notch and price was excellent. They had a 22$ deal for main plates. The server, went the extra mile and brought at the end some cotton candy. I appreciated the dinner and relaxed at that place.

We tried eating at the Compass Room at the Hyatt first, but couldn't get a seat and it appeared to have typical pub food. We got reservations here the next night, two blocks away. It was worth the wait. Great creative foods and an award winning wine list. They have only American food produced locally and American wines, many from... More

Our last evening in Phoenix on a winter family getaway, we decided to eat downtown, We all loved this restaurant. Elegant atmosphere. It is a very large restaurant with many comfortable areas. We sat looking out. On the city decorated for Christmas. We enjoyed two appetizers. Yuma dates stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon were delightful. Calamari was... More

I'm an admitted food snob at times, but I also enjoy good food (rather than great food) when presented properly. This is a lovely setting for a restaurant and the service was very good. The menu is impressive with a nice selection of appetizers as well as entrees, 2 soup choices and several salads. I never understand why any decent... More

Bring your appetite! Ceasar salad was top notch, sea bass was light and served with a duo of potatoes and carrots in a nice tasty broth, and diner rounded out with their not-too-sweet-yet-somehow-satisfying bread pudding. The pecans in the bread pudding were even a little crunchy- usually not the case with other mushy bread puddings. They are also currently running... More

My wife and I dined at District American Kitchen on a recent conference trip to Phoenix. This is a huge restaurant (but nicely divided into smaller areas) with large glass windows and an attractive decor. It has a good wine list, with most wines priced very affordably at $40 or less. On this visit my wife had the maple planked... More

Took part in The Urban Ale Trail. Tried a Sonoran White chocolate ale and bacon wrapped date. Yummy! Friendly staff and yummy snacks. I would come back to try a full meal for sure. It is in the lobby of the Sheraton hotel so the decor is really nice.
