Surprising gem in quiet Patagonia

Always gotta stop at Velvet Elvis when in Patagonia! The creative pizza combos are delicious (and the margaritas are great too). Patagonia is a small town so few places to choose from. We were recommended this place and the service was indeed very good. Happy Hour is truly "a" happy hour...i.e., 1 hr from 4-5. Pizza toppings are generous and fresh. Pizza crust was a bit underdone. Beer will run you about 4-5 bucks / beer.

First off, I must stress the "We love cash" on the window is classless and tacky! With that said, the place is beautiful. My girlfriend and I sat outside when the sun was going down. It was beautiful underneath an ivy canopy with lights in them. It was very comfortable. It was a great night with wine, spinach salad and... More

We loved the different combos the Velvet Elvis have put together. We ordered the pizza with handmade chorizo and it was delicious. While we waiting we spoke with one of the owners I think who told us all about the special wood used throughout the restaurant. The reception/check out bar is made of walnut from Oregon, most of the tables... More

There's a shrine to Out Lady of Guadalupe, and a black velvet image of Elivs. What's not to like. I had pizza. I should have listened when he said a slice was really huge -- I ordered two and didn't get through half of the second slice. My wife had a baked eggplant dish which she liked a lot. She... More

We found this little gem on a motorcycle ride through Patagonia, and we were more than pleased with the unique pizzas created in this restaurant. The outdoor seating is fabulous, the ambience is restful, the artwork is unique, and the t-shirts for sale are well priced and well made. Will be returning.

We went here for dinner based on some reviews we had read and what a wonderful surprise. We both had specials that were offered that evening, although the regular menu offerings also looked very good. The lamb shank was amazing! It was fall-off-the-bone tender with a delicious sauce. My husband had a pork special that came with pickled vegetables (asparagus,... More

Great find in such a small town. Not only a great selection of gourmet pizzas but other Italian specialties and fantastic salads too. A great wine selection with Sangria to die for. The service was outstanding. We will eat here again on our stay here. Patagonia is a hot spot for the bird watching community and many birders, like our self's come... More

Who can resist a place named the Velvet Elvis? The interior is open and cheerful, and the owner/hostess is welcoming. Pizza, Calzones, and salads all have a South of the border twist - try the Mariachi Blanco pizza; Jalapeno and green chile cheese sauce, roasted red peppers and artichoke hearts. A small one is plenty since they're very rich. A... More

The Velvet Elvis has it all: a small, outdoor, shaded patio area; indoor seating with a unique atmosphere & artworks (not JUST Elvis!); friendly/interesting staff; incredible food! We COULD have chosen among the delicious pizzas......BUT opted for a special entree: the "Famous Vegetarian Chile en Nogada" (Poblano pepper stuffed with quinoa, veggies, apples & golden raisins, spices--drizzled with a creamy walnut...
