Another Nogales favorite for both breakfast and lunch - car park always busy. Centrally located it becomes a meeting place for locals to do business. Food is home cooked with large portions - free refills on sodas. Friendly service though hesitant to offer suggestions -

If you're into Menudo, that served at El Zarape is the very best! They have other offerings such as Tacos Dorados, refried beans, etc., but it is their Menudo that brings us back on a frequent basis. Parking is somewhat limited, so we often bring a gallon jug and take home the savory soup. What we don't eat right away... More

Super brunch last Sunday at El Zarape. Authentic Mexican Eggs Ranchero, Menudo, and Chorizo. All served by he friendliest staff and a family run restaurant to boot. Reasonable prices and Sonoran atmosphere, but get here early as the tables fill up fast!

Whenever we are in Nogales, Az. we have to stop here. We've been eating here since they opened in 1993. My favorite meal there is breakfast, but this time it was lunch. It is the best authentic food you can get without crossing the border. The flour tortillas are delicious, and you can even purchase them by the pack to... More

The seafood here is worthy. Call ahead to see if they are open; we have arrived during what we thought were dinner hours, and found the place closed.

Our favorite lunch spot in Nogales. This is a busy, little place with great Mexican taste abounding. I have been there many times and never had cold food. It always seems fresh, authentic, and appealing to us. There are no frills in decor or presentation, but you get more than your money's worth. Ask about the daily special which is... More

This is one stop short of being in grandma's kitchen. When you walk in you can see them cooking. It is very plain, very local, and it is the favorite of many people. Just know that it is not fancy and parking can be challenging but you will get truly local Mexican food.

The restaurant is small, dirty and absolutely no frills. What other reviewers raved about -- guacamole, salsa "to die for" (?really?) some other dishes -- are no longer offered. This is basic, cheap Mexican food. I had cheese enchilada which was small and on cold side of warmed up, with a ton of sauce, and a cheese quesadilla which was... More

Pretty much local fair, and outstanding. Parking was different, everybody just jams in, but when holler they just go out and move the cars so you can get out with a smile and a good day. Loved It!
