Last year was my first trip to Mt Lemmon. I didn't even see the Iron Door restaurant (I parked 150 feet away but my interest was in other things) but we searched and found it this time. The food was close to excellent. Mike, the former cop, former golf course pro current waiter was hilarious. The atmosphere was nice and... More

Try the chili & cornbread! Great service. I love the old feel of this lovely little gem. A long stunning drive up Mt Lemmon for lunch but well worth it.

Food was warm. Atmosphere was cozy with a stone fireplace. When we were there, they had a minimum charge of $8.00 per person. That was at 1 p.m.

At the end of Ski Run Road the Iron Gate restaurant is a good place to stop and warm up. Their soup are meals and with the biggest piece of corn bread you have ever seen you will be ready to face the weather outside on any season. Good service too.

Seriously, listen. Take the scenic, incredible drive 20 or so miles up and outside of Tucson to Mt Lemmon. The drive is unbeatable. You pass through the desert landscape that transforms itself into a mountainous dreamscape. Ponderosa pine, birch, aspen...and by the ski slopes you'll find The Iron Door. I take every friend that visits Tucson here for a slice... More

My daughter and I had a wonderful lunch here a few weeks ago. We had to wait about 15 minutes to get a table (it was a Saturday afternoon with great weather). Our waiter was Nelson and he is pretty amusing. I had chicken noodle soup with cornbread and it was very filling and tasted homemade. My daughter had chili... More

We go to the Iron Door for breakfast every Mother's Day for the last 17 years. And Nelson has been our server. He is a fun guy that quotes Shakespeare and dazzles the ladies with compliments. And the food is wonderful. German potato salad, crepes, sausage, it's all good! And their lunch sandwiches are excellent too!

Take the time to drive up Mt. Lemmon enjoying the awesome scenery and then arrive in time for lunch at the Iron Door. Be fascinated by the change in landscape from the bottom of the hill to the top and then take in the pictures of the skiers in the restaurant. Food was comforting with homey service.

SO glad we stopped here after a long day of exploring Mt. Lemmon! Chili and cornbread were delicious and my fiancé said his Frau Hunt brat with sauerkraut and a side of black bean bacon beer soup was great as well! Reasonable prizes. Great atmosphere and a nice fire!Fast and friendly service! Definitely stop and eat here before you head... More

We had originally came up the mountain (we live local) to get some pie in Summerhaven, but that place closed and the great pies we had heard of moved to the Iron Door Restaurant, which is just south of the parking lot. It's not that obvious, so if you cross over to the ski lift and shop (s) you could... More
