Such atmosphere!

What a cool place...from the moment we walked in.... the fragrance of a wood fireplace. Sat at a table by a window. We were there at lunch and I so enjoyed their chicken salad. Wow… wish we would have know this place was here before we ate in Summerhaven. Did stop in for pie and had the pleasure of meeting the pie/strudel maker. She was awesome and even shared her recipe!! Would definitely recommend!!

I love the hot chili and corn bread, but for ski hill food it is a bit pricey. Good ski resort atmosphere and delicious desserts, though.

Six of us drove to the top of Mt. Lemmon from Oracle. We decided to try this place for lunch, had no idea what to expect. I can say will drive up there again just for lunch. What a great place, the service absolutely great ( Kenni was our server so my advise is to be in her area) three... More

Take your camera when driving up Mt. Lemmon. There are several scenic pullouts for you to see the fabulous views (for MANY miles) on the way up the mountain. Just before you enter the little community of Summerhaven, take a right at the sign that says something about PIES and ChiLI. It takes you to the ski lift on the... More

We drove to the top of the mountain some 30 miles from Tucson and the trip was well worth it. The scenic views on the way are memorable and so is the pie. If we were a little hungrier we'd have tried the corn bread because it too is worth the trip. While there, the proprietor placed a fire in... More

My partner and I decided to eat here about our drive up the mountain and we are very glad we did. The food was excellent and it was nice to see "family" working/owning this place. It was busy the day we were there and seemed like the only had 2 people working the tables. Both were working their butts off!... More

Friends took us on their Harley's to the top of the ski resort at Mt. Lemmon with the idea to stop in at the Iron Door for some lunch. They have been there before and wanted us to experience it too. Glad they suggested it. We had the signature chili with home made, hardy, actually corn in it cornbread. They had... More

Out birding all day, and I was feeling peckish. So, instead of lunch I had Mt berry pie a la mode while seated near the crackling fire at the Iron Door. A great little spot (but busy) with a nice view of the ski lift and Hummingbirds at the feeders.

After returning from hiking the loop at the top of Mt. Lemmon, we choose to eat lunch at the Iron Door Restaurant near the ski lift. The restaurant definitely feels like a lodge. We choose to eat outdoor on the patio. We choose the chilli which came with lots of topics and corn bread. Definitely memorable. The restaurant closes early... More
