Although it is a really nice establishment with a great atmosphere, the food was quite average in my opinion. The pizza hardly had any sauce, and the pasta was bland and not very creamy for an alfredo. I bought some pizza from a take away stand the week before, and it was half the price and much better. It was... More

Jose Luis and Lorena are not only like second family to me but turn out authentic Italian cuisine. He was trained by Italians in Germany and so he knows what he is about. Karla, the oldest daughter lends a hand in the kitchen as does Maria Jose the middle child while Domenica, the youngest keeps everyone smiling.

The pizza was definitely above average, especially for Ecuador. The family that owns it seems really nice. The place is clean, which of course is not always the case here, they don't blare music like a lot of Banos restaurants. Prices are very fair. Also, even though it's open air, looking out onto the street, it,s relatively quiet. If I... More

Jose and his wife Lorena are very nice folks. The pizza is better than average and a glass of wine for $3 is filled to the brim. The only downside is when Jose isn't there the young people left in charge hang out in the front of the dining room and the kissing and petting gets pretty heavy. Love the... More

We went to Piccola Italia last week, on a recommendation from an Ecuadorian friend from Quito. The food was delicious. It's a cosy little place, and as is common in Banos, family run. Prices are reasonable. I still think El Papagallo has the best Italian food in Banos, but Piccola Italia is worth a try.

Restaurant is very simple but has great selection of Italian pastas. Waiter was very courteous and knowledgeable about all dishes on the menu. Prices are very reasonable.

I went here with my wife, we came here just before 8pm on a Thursday night, and were the only ones here, so the atmosphere was a little lacking! The food was really good though- the lasagna especially ($5.50). They cooked it differently to what I previously had known lasagna to be- two layers of lasagna, then all the meat... More

We skipped over this place a few times going to Banos, but hit it last time when our pizza place didn't have pizza. We are so glad we went. The staff was very welcoming and the food was wonderful and very affordable with a great ambiance.

Had a pizza here when we arrived late in Banos and was pleasantly surprised by the great food and good value. We ended up eating here a few times and can recommend the Carne Lasagne, Pan de ajo y queso, and Italian pizza. Good service, clean and tasty, good for a quick eat.

We found this place to be as friendly as it was affordable. The plates are huge and the sauses are original. Very nice. Come hungry.
