Engagement Dinner Fondue

We decided to check out Swiss Bistro to celebrate our engagement that day. We ordered the meat fondue, which is an experience. The dinner comes with bread, fries, salad and four sauces. The sauces were delicious. In addition, we ordered wine (best yet in Banos) and my fiancé ordered a craft beer... read more

Excellent food, well-set tables, kind and knowledgeable waiters, somewhat expensive. Worth the price. We had a good time.

Quiet restaurant to enjoy a meal-even during carnival. Good selection of Swiss specialties. Rosti available in several varieties. Local trout was also very well prepared

One of the very few restaurants in Ecuador / South America where we felt we might have missed the continent and we were back in Europe. While not a cheap option to eat out it's great flavours and it brought back memories of home restaurants.

If you're looking for something a little different when eating out in Banos you may want to give the Swiss bistro a try. There is a reasonable range of Swiss inspired (or generally European) food eg stroganoff. The prices are not unreasonable. Our house wine was acceptable. Service was average but not fantastic.

I love eating outdoors, and this place has a great outdoor, heated patio on the upper level. We were interested in the cheese fondue (with potatoes, bread, and tomato) but opted not to go for it because of the price...$19 per person!!! GET OUTA HERE!!! Each of (5) of us chose to order indivdual plates. All were very happy with... More

We got to the restaurant which was very well recommended, the menu was hard to understand since there weren't any descriptions of the items but the staff being very friendly were also very helpful. The rooftop area is very cool.

We found the waiters to be very nice and friendly, unfortunately the food was only average. We had the potato rösti with tomato and mozzarella which contained hardly any spices and was almost tasteless. The Swiss mixed starter dish was also disappointing: pressed ham, the salami which was on the menu was missing, the sausages were nothing special and the... More

You have various options, even vegetarian ones. Since it is a swiss restaurant, I dont think you could get a vegan meal. The place is nice and the waiters do their job perfectly. The price is ok and the location is great.

A very cozy restaurant with a terrace on top (with smoking area). Nice food. They also have fondue, although it takes quite some time to make it happen. I give 4 just because I compare it with 5 in Europe, although locally it's surely a 5.
