My husband and I quite enjoyed dining here several times while we were studying Spanish in Banos for four weeks. This is such a quaint, quiet and tucked away jewel, well worth the effort to find it. A couple of times for an afternoon break, we drank generous glasses of wine along with nibbling on homemade french fries in the... More

This café is a real treasure as we had dinner twice we had 4 different meals and each one was fantastic! And best of all, save room for the desert. Yes, when you order wine it comes in a large glass and full to the top 8-10 oz. so enjoy the dinner and the warm atmosphere.

Cafe Mariane is a little tucked away gem. The space is great and the food is good. It is expensive, so maybe not a great place to go on a budget, but my friend got the steak and it was perfect!

Ok so it looked like it was closed, but I'm glad it wasn't cause the food was great! I got a steak and it was delicious!! Very nicely cooked and the French guy which I assume is the owner is so nice!!

Dont be fooled by the way it looks in the outside, the food super seeds the location of the restaurant. IT is located in the family owned hotel, at first glance you'll have doubts, but once you try your first cup of wine you'll bet set for the meals! JUST REMARKABLE!!!

We had been unsuccessful in finding good steaks in Ecuador until we dined here. The meal was cooked to perfection with the steak juicy and tender and the vegetables cooked just right. There was more than enough food so we took a care package with us. The service was good and the setting very quaint, nestled in the gardens. The... More

We visited this restaurant based on the great reviews and wanting to try something different. We had a good experience overall and would recommend it if you're staying in Banos, but not as a special trip. Service, like most of Ecuador, is spotty. The wine was good, my scalloped potatoes were the best thing we ate, though my steak was... More

After traveling all day by bus from Cuenca this resturant was a very pleasant surprise. Good decor and very good food served in a relaxed environment.

We found this hidden gem, French-owned, one-room restaurant. Entrance is hidden off the street down a little pathway, enjoyed the colorful, working fireplace in the corner, menu had fine choices, not full-on french, but nicely used local ingredients. One in our party said the chocolate desert was not authentic but I loved it and it did not remain on the... More

We had 2 meals in Banos prior to trying this one. While it was alright, I guess we were comparing it with the previous meals we had and wished we had stuck with the previous excellent meals. It was highly suggested and taste is such a personal thing however, we both agreed we liked our previous places better.
