I was on a cruise in Antarctica when I was told about this restaurant. So I decided that I must try it when I get back to Ushuaia and I was not disappointed. It is on a quiet street near Saint Martin and it is not too far from Puerto Ushuaia. After a hectic day of touring Ushuaia, I could... More

The owner and Chef Georges was charming and proud of his dishes for obvious reasons - everything was amazing, from the Salmon Sushi appetizer to the amazing chocolate almond crumble dessert. Highly recommended as are reservations.

S54°48.322' W68°17.962' Being catapulted into first place as the best restaurant at the most southern point of South-America in the 2014 edition of the Lonely Planet, sorry Puerto Williams, demanded close scrutiny in January 2015. Even more in this ugly industrial outpost. Has delicate cuisine arrived in a harbour full of roughnecks? Kalma Resto is a tiny restaurant with 24... More

My friend's are part of some serious foodie clubs in NYC and had highly recommended Kalma. My husband and I went and from the moment we sat down, we were greeted with warmth and friendliness. Ushuaia can be a bit dreary and definitely cold, so bundle up. But this gem of a restaurant is phenomenal and worth checking out. This... More

Probably the southernmost foodie restaurant in the world.the chef patron was very friendly and welcoming, as was the waitress. The stater which we shared was a delightful home gown salad full of delicate tastes and textures in a cracker basket. For mains we had the black hake which was beautifully cooked with 5 pr so mini gnocchi. Not a meal... More

From the bread to the dessert, every plate and detail were carefully crafted by the owner and chef Jorge, who even comes to the table to present the suggestions. Regional ingredients with new tecniques (like molecular cooking) and fusion with other cuisines. The dessert with almonds and cocoa under icecream was so good I wish would never end. Delightful! The food can compete with any in the food Meccas of the world. And it isn't pretentious. It's the best meal I had all year and when you compare the bill to what it would cost in NY and LA you feel like you should eat every meal there. Highly recommend reservations. The dishes are gorgeous and locally sourced.

From the chef, very cheerful and helpful in explaining the origin and sourcing of local dishes, to the ambient, cozy and contemporary, to the choice if wines, Kalma is by far the best dining experience you can have in Ushuaia. We tried some "merluza" white fish from the cold sea of Cape Horn and some good appetisers (including the delicious... More

We had a wonderful lunch at Kalma Resto, a quaint restaurant right downtown. The chef, Jorge, greeted us and made us feel welcome as well as told us about the restaurant and the menu. The preparations relied on local ingredients and were creative, so the menu was really interesting. It feels like a fine restaurant transported to a quaint, friendly... More

What a fantastic dining experience! The food was amazing and really inventive. A fantastic and unique experience for the palate! This restaurant was quite close to my hotel and I am so glad it was. It was the best meal I had in Ushuaia and they had really nice vegetarian dishes which is a plus in meat-centric Argentina. The restaurant... More
