We visited this establishment in 2010 and had a great time and a wonderful bottle or Argentinian wine. So here we are again in January 2015. We spoke with the servers in my broke spanish and expained that we were here 5 years ago, and just had to stop in to say HI. We looked at the wine selection and... More

as other reviewers have said, the place doesn't look like anything from the outside. i thought it was only a bakery... but they had really delicious food too. we had lunch here both days we were in ushuaia. we ordered off the specials board and weren't disappointed. they seem to skew on the italian side - seafood risotto, ravioli, bolognese... We stopped in for lunch and we were so surprised. The place was full and the waiters were so nice. We tried the tomato and onion soup special which were amazing. A big basket of crusty bread came with it. You will be tempted to try their pastries as well. Everything is so good. Don't miss this cafe. You won't... More

I stumbled upon this restaurant and ordered a simple meal. Everything about the meal was excellent including the fresh white bread, which was as good as you will get in France never mind Argentina. Upon returning home, I looked up the restaurant in TripAdvisor to see if it had been discovered. It had! I was there alone and had the... More

We visited the Almacen twice in a couple of days, for breakfast and for drinks before dinner. The place is not appealing at all from the outside and the door is almost invisible...it looks like a small, abandoned warehouse. But once you step inside...well, you are submerged in the perfect spot where probably pirates, sailors and merchants were going for... More

We had a large group (10 people) and they just pulled together tables in the back for us. Very accommodating. We ordered lots of local beers (Beagle mostly) and quite a variety of their food. It was all very good. They make the cutest little marshmallow and chocolate penquin desserts. Worth the couple bucks!

Spent four days in Ushuaia in Dec 2014, and had two dinners and a coffee at Ramos General, ie we went back twice. Location is not the most appealing, on a busy street across from the port, but step inside and go back in time. Menu is short but good, fewer plates means kitchen is stocked fresh and cooks know... Our hotel recommended this restaurant to us for our last night's meal. It was very characterful, with lots of old devices & books around. It's also a patisserie, with a good selection of French tarts & croissants. Nice selection of local beers, made a nice change from Quilmes, which seems to be the only Argentinian beer on offer in most... More

Despite what another recent reviewer wrote we had a splendid serving of pumpkin soup here for lunch recently. Our waiter seemed to be able to say hello in many many languages and certainly helped our lunch ordering process greatly. We first visited here 6 years prior and the café interior is certainly interesting. We then returned again after our Antarctica... More
