We stayed at Kau Kaleshen in off season (may), so we were happy to join a good reviewed restaurant next to our room. The place is cosy, has a wide variety of awesome teas and de hostess is very friendly, speeks Spanish and English. We really enjoyed the taste of the food (meatballs as a starter, lamb ribs and risotto)... More

We had a delicious cheese fondue at this beautiful small restaurant! The owner is a visual artist so the place is filled with creative and inspiring arts all around. The staff was friendly and the prices were not too expensive. I recommend it to everyone, specially for couples looking for a romantic meal time.

We were lucky to stumble upon Kau Kaleshen during our stay in El Calafate. No reservations, but we were there early for dinner by local standards. It is just off the main road, so easy to find, but not as touristy. The food and the service was superb. While our waitress spoke little English and we speak little Spanish, she... More

I had an excellent meal here. Portions were actually very large. Both the main course and dessert were excellent, as was the service. Most people in my party ate meat dishes and quite liked them, but as a vegetarian I also really liked my meal.

This restaurant is not on the main street but thought we would look for it as Lonely Planet listed this place as a vegaterian restaurant. My partner as pleasantly surprised to find meat on the menu. The best meat in Argentina and presented beautifully. They first serve you with fresh warm bread with herbs which tastes like home made bread.... More

We happened to be staying in the Hosteria which made attending this amazing restaurant. We had the trout and the traditional stew (can't remember the exact name). They were both superb! The service was also excellent, as our server was attentive and friendly. Prices are fair for the quality of food (around $160AR per entree). If you are in El... More

We stumbled upon Kau Kaleshen and upon entering we were uncertain as to whether we entered a cafe or a more substantial restaurant. It is a small, cozy place and we were lucky to find a free table there. The service was delightful and we were pleasantly surprised at how tasty the food was. I was in the mood for... More

To find gourmet food at very reasonable prices at nearly the end of the world is something NOT TO BE MISSED!!! The chicken pie is both comfort food and a mixture of subtle flavors that is something that made even this New York Restaurant-goer take notice. Wine list is plentiful. And... there were tango dancers to passionately light the evening... More
