Nothing special

The restaurant is on main street. The food was average. The selection was limited. The price is average. The service is average. We ate there twice during our visit to to El Calafate.

Having read other reviews we decided this was the place to try a goof Argentine Steak, and boy, we certainly weren't disappointed. The restaurant opens at 7pm, most of the locals arrive around 8.30pm. The service was excellent, our waiter was outstanding, once seated, he came out with bread and pate, wine list and returned quickly to take both wine... More

My dish was excellent, awesome meat! Service wasn't very good though as the staff wasn't that friendly and it took always some time until they came to attend you. But still recommend this place, it's a restaurant, so it's still about the food ;)

Myself and my girlfriend were here for dinner and we both agreed that this restaurant deserved a good review because the, on our opinion, the bad reviews are unjustified. Ok, this may not be the best restaurant ever but I am happy to say that it is way better than other ones in El Calafate with better reviews on TA.... More

We have been to few restaurants in El Calafate, and naturally we had tasted almost only Cordero (lamb), the region's main dish, so the competition is certainly not easy. But, we liked most Rick's, and for several reasons. First of all, the cordero was excellent, tender and tasty and melts in your mouth. Secondly, the service was not only good... More

A great place. Good grills. Pretty cheap. No frills but good service. Gets very busy around 9pm which is the best time to go and try the lamb - it is very good. Simple food done well with good ingredients. We felt very much at home there for over an hour drinking decent Malbec and good steak and lamb with... More

The food at Rick's was rather decent and within walking distance of my Hosteria. Unfortunately that is where the praise ends. Originally we stepped inside after reviewing the menu and seeing that a 'Parilla por dos' was $270AR. My girlfriend and I got our table ordered some wine and meal and waited for the food to come out. It turned... More

This is the typical "parrilla" for tourists in El Calafate, except for the fact that the waiters are there to serve and solve any problem that might occur. Good quality meat, good (but simple) wine selection and exceptional service. (in Calafate the concept of service is almost non-existent).

1)Worst ever experience in any meat restaurant I had. 2)Asked for beef, got a steak made exactly med/rare, but !!! Taste of unrecognized thing, and texture of chewing gum. 3)I called the waiter and return it back and from this moment didn't hear from anybody at the restaurant. 4)Bad service, 0 (zero) patience. 5)Go there only if there is a... This was my restaurant of choice after trying all the others in town. It's a great place and always busy. All restaurants in Calafate are expensive so I would rate this one good value for money as the food was great. The staff are very professional too. I loved the mashed potatoes.
