This restaurant was heaving the night I visited... Saw this as a good sign and sat down to wait for 15 minutes or so. The menu is extensive - I have never seen so many variations of stuffings for ravioli in all my life! I went for a smoked salmon starter (salmon was lovely, accompanying chutney was "interesting"), a mushroom... More

We were 5 people. Pasta was OK (not more). Meat, we asked for Lomo and got something that was un-eatable. Very disappointing.

Very friendly service and good quality for reasonable prices. We had sorrentinos with cucina salsa, which was very good.

This is a great restaurant in the centre of El Calafate. We went there the day we arrived and we were quite tired. We explained quickly that I had to eat gluten free because of coeliac disease, and were assured this was not a problem. To my happy surprise I got a menu only displaying gluten free options, and I... We have eaten two times in La Cocina. Good cuisine and reasonable prices. Service, decoration and atmosphere were perfect.

Quick review - lovely food, great service. The soup to start was a cockle - warmer and while it was nothing amazingly special, tasted good. The steak was excellent and just what I needed after an ice trek. I had the Patagonian red wine which surprisingly complimented the meat well (I almost went for the malbec but thought to try... More

I always feel like I should qualify this in some way: this review is going to focus more around the food than the service. The servers in the restaurant were attentive and helpful - we liked them. That's not to say we didn't like the food...we just weren't all that excited about it by the time we left. I ordered... More

Our group of 6 enjoyed our dining experience at La Cocina. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers - all delicious. The lamb, beef, and pasta entrees were great too. The Patagonian wine was fantastic. Service was very slow, but we found this to be the case everywhere we went in Argentina & Chile.

Well I was wandering around Calafate in the afternoon. I had already had a plan for dinner, but I just happened to peer into the window of La Cocina and noticed a fFlintstones sized, perfectly seared steak on a diner's plate. My salivary glands kicked into overdrive and the empanadas and beer I just had were long forgotten. I wanted... More
