I always feel like I should qualify this in some way: this review is going to focus more around the food than the service. The servers in the restaurant were attentive and helpful - we liked them. That's not to say we didn't like the food...we just weren't all that excited about it by the time we left. I ordered... More

Our group of 6 enjoyed our dining experience at La Cocina. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers - all delicious. The lamb, beef, and pasta entrees were great too. The Patagonian wine was fantastic. Service was very slow, but we found this to be the case everywhere we went in Argentina & Chile.

Well I was wandering around Calafate in the afternoon. I had already had a plan for dinner, but I just happened to peer into the window of La Cocina and noticed a fFlintstones sized, perfectly seared steak on a diner's plate. My salivary glands kicked into overdrive and the empanadas and beer I just had were long forgotten. I wanted... More

Located on the main street in El Calafate, La Cocina looks pretty much like all the other restaurants in the area, but the service and food make it a more pleasurable experience as the majority of the eateries in the area just want you sitting down, then the seem to loose interest in customer service on the basis that they’ve... La Cocina was recommended and we were not disappointed. We both chose beef dishes from the BBQ and they were tender and of excellent flavour. My wife's rump steak and my fillet (lomo) were huge. We did have starters but should not have bothered because we then struggled to do justice to the main courses. Service was prompt and efficient.... More

We dined here in January and had an excellent meal. My son had loma, beef tenderloin, which was very good, tender and perfectly done. I had the grilled trout and it was hands down the best preparation of trout I have ever had. The service was stellar and the ambience was cozy and welcoming, white table cloth but not stuffy.... The pastas are homemade, the sauces are pretty good as well. Better food than most other restaurants in El Calafate.

I and my family ordered different dishes and side dishes. We were all very happy with our choices. Service was efficient, although the restaurant was full. I realized that people who arrived after 9 pm had to wait. A little more expensive than the average restaurants of the same type. However, we were all satisfied. It is very common to... More

While on a 2 week hiking trip, we dined at La Cocina twice. Both were well above expectations, it my dining spot of choice in El Calafate.
