Amazing meat stew! Come hungry!

The meat stew served in a pumpkin is one of the best meals I've ever had. I almost cried with sorrow when I couldn't finish it because I ate bread beforehand. It has this very home cooked meal feel to it.

We had read a lot of rave reviews about Pura Vida. Although the food was great, I do not necessarily believe it quite lived up to the hype. We had just come from several days in El Chalten, and I think our meals were better there. That being said, the food was very good, and the portion sizes were huge!... More

It's worth going to this place just to see the inside of the restaurant - very unique setting and decor. The staff was friendly and the food was good.

i would not recommend to go to this place. Service is very bad and food suppose to be special but at the end it is a very simple food with vary bad taste. Price are very high!!! Their are many other restaurants in calafate like Isabel that the value money is much better.

Place is great. Food is tasty, huge portion sizes, and distinct menu (compared to many places in El Calafate). Service was good, prices are reasonable, and restaurant has a good vibe. Great dinner after a long excursion. Lamb stew and vegetable lasagna are fantastic.

One of the best places in El Calafate. If you just need to choose one, probably this is the one to visit

Our tour guide recommended this restaurant to us, and we were very happy she did. This restaurant was unique in many ways; its outside colour (purple), the colouful decorations, 60s and 70s music, and the delicious homemade food! If you are tired of the Argentinian BBQ and long for homemade food, this is the restaurant for you.

Visited on 30 December, could not book, so had to have a glass around the corner to wait for the table. Spent 3 weeks in Argentina dining out every night following reviews from locals, lonely planet and Internet - this was top of the places visited. great atmosphere, amazing food. The most tender lamb and great selection of non-meat stuff,... More

Madre Tierra Patagonia - B&B slept at - recommended Pura Vida. It was a good recommendation. The colorfully lighted and unique ambience and efficient and attentive wait staff for me last Saturday made this dining experience very enjoyable! I had the Cuzuela de Cordero and wine. Very delicious on both counts. Done here for value and service while in El... More

We arrived at opening time and the restaurant quickly filled up with an interesting mix of locals and tourists. Our waiter was very helpful, suggesting we could share our main courses thereby avoiding overload. As always in Argentina, there was a super bottle of Malbec on offer. The decor was a bit wacky but that added to the charm of... More
