Patagonia dishes, and classic Parrilla

Beautiful simple restaurant, in downtown Bariloche. The waiters are very nice and ready to recommend and explain dishes, as well as the wines to go with them. Quiet and comfortable ambiance. I personally recommend the trout (grilled with lemon) and the chipirones which are in their perfect point!

Having tried Jauja's most delicious ice cream, I was hoping that their restaurant was a bit different from the awful average dining scene of Bariloche. I was wrong, very wrong. The vegetable soup was a tasteless clear broth, the salad a bunch of wilted greens, the "trucha grellada" an O.K. farm-raised filleted fish. The bill, without wine, came about $45.... More

I have read many of the reviews and was confused by many of the reviews. First, we went there twice and never was charged a cover fee. ( can't say that about Family Weiss and others). Service was fine and casually paced, like it always is in Argentina. The room was nice not elegant. It was plain and seemed to... More

Do not waste your time in line at nearby Boliche de Alberto, Jauja has a better one, order it with papas a la crema an I promiss you paradise!

The service was really good, all the people was willing to help us, and try to make our dinner a good experience. With my wife we tasted some local food (salmon / wild boar), and it was all delicious. The prices are sized for foreign people, not for the locals (as me an my wife) so it was a quite... More

We went ti this place because we really liked their ice cream in Helado Jauja a few blocks away. We were quite disappointed because you get mediocre food in pretty small size dishes for fancy prices. And be aware, you have a 15 peso mandatory "serving fee" per person, and you only find about that in the bill because nobody... More

By far our the worst meal of our first week in So. America. Not sure all these good reviews came from?!?! Hear me out: for a very affordable Pinot 750 ml (110 pesos), one chorizo to try (30 pesos), some venison tenderloin ('Ciervo", but asking for another sauce with Morels instead of the standard one), one trout Au Roquefort ("Trucha",... I can't recommend Jauja enough. It's only 2 streets uphill from Mitre, so a lot of people miss it and end up going to touristy restaurants. This place is much more authentic and the food is really good. You can have great Stakes or try local (Boar, deer). Ditch those overrated stakehouses and do yourself a favor.

all meats were superb including cold cuts. very good wine list and convenient location. Best for my taste were lamb and trout. Very good quality Patagonian food. We were there with big company and tried a lot of items on the menu - were not disappoint with any of them - hot or cold.

My husband and I showed up at 7:30 on the nail. First ones there. We were welcomed. I ordered trout, he had the lamb and potatoes noisette. And a salad and bottle of wine. My trout was ok. I've never had trout that was salmon colored. Some of it was probably a little too close to the broiler and was... More
