Description: The three young amigos who own and run this amazing and tiny lakeside restaurant could have set up shop just about anywhere in the world -- the Michelin-trained chef is Irish, the delightful sommelier's German, and the charming server is a Porteña. That they chose a lovely location just above Bariloche's popular Playa Bonita illustrates their passion for this place. Local ingredients, from rabbit and duck to leeks and berries, are sourced daily and presented in an impeccably intricate seven-course menu. Wine is offered by the bottle or as a highly recommended paired tasting.Reservations are required.Excerpt taken from "Frommers Argentina 3rd edition"

It is not the typical argentinian parrilla. But Jesus, you have to stop by! We were there guided by tripadvisor, and so glad we did it!! It's a "posh" restaurant, with special food, 7 dishes, 5 of them are main dishes, and two of them are desserts. The dishes are really elaborated, with combinations of flavours you'd never imagined they... More

If you're celebrating a special occasion or feel like splurging while in Bariloche, the staff and chef of Butterfly will make sure you have an unforgettable dining experience. My husband and I celebrated his birthday there while in Bariloche; we had a wonderful night. The 7 or 8-course meal (I lost count!) was inspired by the chef's travels, integrating French... More

It is safe to say that this is not an Argentinian restaurant so don't expect parilla style cuisine, or choripan as one of your 8 courses. Do expect delicious, decadent, and a wonderful fusion of flavors. Location: hard to find but worth it; About 10 min from town. Atmosphere: while this restaurant could really be one found anywhere in the... More

Amazing food at the 7 course prefix dinner at Butterfly. The place is small and personal. Staff is very nice. Most importantly all courses were delicious. Definitely worth going when you are in Bariloche.

What a wonderful restaurant. Walking down the side street to find Butterfly was all part of the experience. Sebastian greeted us enthusiastically and we began the gourmet journey. Exceptional seven course meal paired with excellent wine selections. Every course was beyond expectations. You should not miss this dining experience.

Super restaurant with very attentive staff. We had a lovely seven course dinner with wines for a reasonable price.Loved all dishes bit vad difficulties with one course that was thai inspired and in my opinion did not match with suggested wine. Restaurang was half empty so the staff gave us plenty of attention. Can really recommend the restaurang

Butterfly offers a six course tasting menu for dinner. The dishes are not the usual Argentine foods but far more inventive. The ego of the owner ( soon to be former owner as the restaurant has been sold) seemed to intrude on the meal all evening. The view from the deck of the lake is beautiful. Maybe the new owners... My Husband and I ate at Butterfly on our recent trip to Argentina. We chose Butterfly based upon the trip advisor reviews. The restaurant exceeded our high expectations. We ordered the 7 course meal with the wine pairings for 5 of the courses. The wines were perfectly paired with the food. The intimate dining setting with a view over the... More

I can understand why this is the No.1 rated restaurant. There are only a handful of tables on the "beach" overlooking the lake and the setting is relaxed and intimate. The food is fantastic - we had the degustation and it was beautifully done. Sebastian matched the wines superbly & was equally passionate & knowledgable. We had a night to... More

Best in town but not worth 5 stars. Food is fine and the chef is certainly trying but doesn't quite get it. Some of. The dishes didn't work very well. That said it's not expensive and probably the best in town so worth the trip.
