It's recommended by a lot of locals. This place is a must; it's where the locals go for lunch and dinner. The service is excellent, and they offer a good variety of dishes. Highly recommended

This place came in recommended by the first person we met in Bariloche. He said this place was a must, it's where the locals go to eat. We are glad to have followed his advise. Place opened at 8pm, and we arrive at 8:30 and got seated quickly. 15 minutes later the place was packed and people stood outside waiting... More

When traveling in Bariloche food can be expensive, but at La Fonda del Tio the food is delicious, large portions and a great price! We went there for dinner and wanted to try the Milanesa so we both ordered it and they said "no no no, you need to order one as they are so big!" 1 milanesa napolitana fed... More

We had a great meal, ravioli bolognese and colita de cuadril, generous and tasty. Decided to try the house wine, huge mistake, it was undrinkable, tasted like petrol. Other than that, however, it was a fun experience, very generous portions, good food. Great restaurant away from the tourist trail. Fun atmosphere, excellent value.

When we asked our guide to suggest a restaurant that would be an alternative to the steak places in town, right away she mentioned La Fonda del Tio. She said it was a bit of a walk from the tourist center of town and that it catered to locals, but that it was very good and authentic. It took us... More

Good fresh food for locals. Other places just rip you off. Try the marinated eggplant, the pasta, the matambre, etc.

Very good tavern with huge plates and very good food. Start to get there from the main street in Bariloche at the Civic Center (Mitre Street) and walk up to the 1100 block while you enjoy the stroll window shopping. Recommendation: get there either early or late because it packs quickly and you will find yourself waiting at the door... More

Amazing place to go to get out of the tourist trap places. The plates are huge- my teenagers couldn't even finish theirs. Definitely recommend it.

This place gets pack in a hurry. We were waiting outside right before it open (8PM) and by 9PM all the tables were filled. The food is abundant, very tasty and cheap. We had pasta and it was very fresh. The only bad thing is that they do not have coffee and that's the reason I did not give it... More
